Ah yay! I didn't understand that you needed 3 of each different item from a category to trigger a win. I knew it worked with 3 matching cards 3x, but didn't get why it wouldn't work when I had 2 matching sets and then 2 of one (say, shrimp) and another from the same category (say, lobster) showed up in my temporary card spot. I thought any 3 from a category worked as a set, even if 2 were identical, but that win just was worth less. And almost definitely would have continued playing that way. So helpful! Thank you!!!!
Not sure if this helps, but as someone who is usually very good at written instructions, I still missed some key points in this game tutorial until watching this video. At some point, it's not your fault - we can blame the instructions
I'm so happy that we get more minigames like this in future updates! I'm really digging the Hotpot minigame, it looks so fun, and the rewards you get from it look cute.
I also don't get it. Does someone need to have 3 sets of both same ingredients AND categories? I matched it too look like in a tutorial, with 2 on the left, and still nothing

Soooo is the card you draw, counting as one of your deck? People keep saying that you need 3 cards 3x, but there is only 8 cards in your deck... does the card you draw count as your 9th?
I like hotpot for the tickets, but I wouldn’t say hotpot is relaxing lol I rage internally almost every time I play it because it doesn’t want to give me what I need 😂

I'm addicted to HotPot Mahjong and I want a IRL boardgame version of it.
Look up Rummikub. It plays very similar.
Or make your own with a deck off playing cards a printer and glue/ laminater/ tape

When you draw a tile, that becomes your 9th tile!

the game ends when a player wins by getting 3 sets of 3. (3 times 3 equals nine, that’s why there’s exactly nine cards)
