The fact that Mihawk decided to entertain the idea of Zoro "fighting him" is hilarious because the difference between the two is like that of the ocean and a glass of water. Nami is the brains of this crew and she knows that they are called warlords for a reason, Zoro was lucky that Mihawk took a liking to him.
Mihawk is a fan favorite character, so it was nice to see him adapted so well in the live action. His actor really killed it and his fight with Zoro was great and so well choreographed.
It should have been perfect if they copy the manga instead of the anime in that final blow. The swords should have been shattered the moment it landed an impact and not after and like cut into pieces, it look so unrealistic. The swirling of the swords before the final blow doesn't make sense too. But overall this is one of the best swords fight I've seen. Even the camera shots look like it's dancing with the fight scenes. What an art.
It's easy to be mad at Nami but she had a better read on the situation than literally anyone else here xD Mihawk cut a giant ship in half from like two-hundred meters away. He could slaughter a hundred Zoro with a butter knife.
I’m just waiting for the final two episodes. They are going to feel real bad for the Nami slander, though I absolutely understand her seeming fishy (heh) for a first time viewer. It’s sort of the point :P
Mihawk is one of the strongest character that was revealed early in the live action. You can really tell how strong he is by how he cut that ship in half with one swing of his sword and being far away. Bro is OP as hell and I knew you'd love him!
In the anime, he cuts the top of a mountain off while "fighting" Luffy. It was the first time Luffy's instincts reacted through fear instead of confidence and skill. Mihawk is among a handful of characters who are absolutely insane in power. Kaido, Big Mom, Blackbeard, Whitebeard, GolD Roger, and Shanks are right at the top with Mihawk.
I always loved how Oda introduced Mihawk, one of the strongest people in one piece so early on, to show the different and massive gap of power. Not to mention he was using like 1% of his true skill when he cut the boat. Lol

Don Krieg (that pirate Mihawk killed) was actually the main antagonist of this arc in the anime with him and his crew attacking the Baratie. That one starving guy Sanji fed was also a part of his crew and he decided not to fight Sanji and Luffy during the fight because of Sanji’s kindness. Mihawk showed up because he was after Krieg and not Luffy, but he decided to leave after his fight with Zoro (which pretty much went how it did here, except Nami actually did leave and also stole the Merry)

@@JaySewani Nope, Zoro isn't there yet even 1000 episodes later. And not only hasn't he beat him but I don't think he's quite Mihawk level yet (although he might be getting close, Mihawk is possibly his next major opponent, or maybe the one after that, we'll have to see).
Mihawk, Shanks, and Garp are kinda "endgame" characters, well Garp is more of a retiring one. But either way none of our cast can even scratch these guys at this point 😂
Seeing how Netflix is pushing some context up like Garp, I could definitely see the “rest” of Sanjis back story being pushed up to season 2 when he takes a nickname that relates to it. I know I’m vague as hell but trying to avoid spoiling those who don’t know
Ya many others have said this, but in this world, The Luffy's crew are medium sized fish in a big pond. And that pond...is The East Blue. Comparitively? The Grand Line is the ocean, full of massive monsters. One of said monsters, is Dracule Mihawk. It was fun watching you guys stan Zoro, because that is exactly why Mihawk is here, to show the discrepency in power. He's the vibe check that shows just how far our heroes are from the top of the food chain. As a heads up, a good way of measuring alot of the "power levels" for this show/world, is the size of the character's bounty. Also a detail when Mihawk showed up, it showed his bounty and said "Cancelled". As in even if someone did kill Mihawk, his bounty wouldn't be paid. Because he's a Warlord. Pretty sure y'all picked up on that though!
As a One Piece reader for 21 years, Zoro is my fav character in the manga, and this fight is always been one of my favourites. They did great in the live action, both actors for Zoro & Mihawk have my most respect 😎 I love your reactions, especially on eps 3 when you guys calling out Sigma Zoro 😂
I like Zoro but he isn't my favorite character he's a great character don't get me wrong but he's not really as deep as a character sure he's great but that's it
It's also the one that hooks most people in the series. The park scene and the Nami scene was the turning point for me when I realized how deep this story was going to be.
@@mrfool3545 most thing i like about robin is how mature she is. and how she forced herself to the crew and later they would go to suicide mission for her
3:04 Most characters that you meet will in fact surprise you and most likely excite you as well with how strong they actually are. Appearances can often be deceiving. Garp throwing cannonballs with his bare hands is one moment I was looking forward to and not disappointed when it happened in the live action.
I really cant wait for a second aeason and for them to explain their god strength so people can understand why some are strong like that despite not eating a devil fruit and thus how luffy and others will get stronger
18:31 *YES!* That's exactly what they are. In the Manga/Anime they always refer to each other as *Nakama,* especially Luffy. "「仲間」-pronounced “Nakama” is a word that translates to your friend, teammate, or comrade. Nakama is recalling a close, *family-like relationship."*
Somehow they elevated Mihawk from the Manga and Anime which is especially impressive, and he’s completely in-character. It’s one of the most flawless portrayals ever.
The creator said that the snails have the power of mimicry. They take on the appearance of the person closest to them and are able to replicate the mannerisms of the people on the other end of the line.
Mihawk was the guy with the side burns in the crowd in ep 1. If you look close to the pirate ships leaving port you see a very small boat low and in the middle. This is Mihawks raft/boat. Mihawk sails around on a raft with a chair for him to sit on.
I have seen a lot of reviews/reactions that rip Garp for tearing Luffy's ship apart and being a bad father figure. The metaphor for context is that Luffy just told him that he wants to be a Fentanyl dealer or serial killer. Most pirates are bad in One Piece. Garp didn't give him time to explain that his version of pirating is about adventure and freedom.
THANK YOU for putting that title because Hawkeye Mihawk is DEFINITELY my favourite character. He's portrayed a little differently in the anime, he's more intense and other things, but they did a great job portraying him here. He's the guy in the beginning with the sideburns! A young Mihawk! Honestly, I wasn't going to suggest it, but after watching this reaction, Im going to have to suggest you guys react to the anime after this lol. As you know it's LONG, so youd have to do like 6 or 7 eps per video lol, but it's really cool! I mean this show is from that anime so I dont have to convince you lol. THANK YOU for this reaction, so good!!!
the whole conversation with zoro that nami has is her trying to suss out if they're actually going to be angry at her when she reveals her secret, it's her assessing if there'll be a double standard, plus nami has her reasons, her having a secret doesn't make her points invalid about having marines following them all the time because of luffy
17:33 she wasn't underestimating zorro , she was just rightfully estimating mihawk , at this point of the story zorro was like a fly to mihawk , nowadays he's more like ....ah....a chiwawa to mihawk
You get know the Grandpa but it later on in the Anime. Oda always put things in some episodes and then later you learn more later on. Mihawk is cool so much
fun fact: the actor who played sanji actually took up tae kwan do and kickboxing to prep for the role. and he actually learned how to be a chef. he was so good at it, he actually made meals for the cast and crew himself.
21:29 The scale of the duel, like most of the battles in the original series is much more graphic. They managed to capture the difference in levels between Mihawk and Zoro in the live action really well. But the manga and the anime also has a unique and emotional dynamic too if you decide to give it a watch.
I really love your reaction and review of the episodes. ✨The way you talk and develop theories is something interesting to watch ✨ Its 3:35am but i will not sleep until i watch this 🔥✨
Even in the live action it's wonderful seeing people experience One Piece for the first time. Zoro was without a doubt the strongest swordsman in East Blue, a big fish in a small pond, Mihawk just taught him how big the world is.
You guys are very passionate about this show... which is why you are the ones I'm looking forward the most to finally get to episode 7... Really can't wait to see what will your reaction be XD
I’ll be honest I wish there was more episode instead of 8 because Ussop and Sanji join the crew late in the series. I was upset Sanji didn’t see Zoro fighting Mihawk like in the anime since that is what really helped motivated him to join the crew and want to pursue his dream of finding the All Blue. Zoro and Sanji are really important characters for Luffy and his dream
We can wish for a lot of things, but its a jam packed adaptation. Its not gonna have everything. But be thankful they are staying close to the story with a different angle
@@Sdizzle7No I’m fine with it, I just wish Ussop especially Sanji had more chemistry with the crew, because it felt so fast paced at some bits. Even Ussop didn’t have a moment to shine in his own Arc
lol what are you talking about? live action yes but mihawk is quite literally the most slandered character in one piece and hes not a fan fav. dont mix live action with anime
Mihawk was actually at Gold Roger's execution in the first episode. If you look at the character the camera pans on after someone in the crowd asks, "Pirate King, where is your treasure?!" you can see a younger Mihawk gazing upwards. They nailed him in live-action and he is insanely strong as the world's strongest swordsman.
"Is there a doctor on this fish?" That line was so unexpected and unreasonably funny to me that it made me laugh quite hard. The problem? I was mid mouthful of pasta and the laugh made me snort elbow macaroni through my nose and onto my monitor, choking and sputtering to breath as I made a mess lol. Good stuff xD
This series gets it. It’s about found family and freedom; it seeks to dismantle systems of subjugation and its surrogates; it’s goofy and heartfelt. This is One Piece. Straw Hats, Unite!
I can't wait to see your reaction about the real reason why Nami is ditching them, keeping secrets, and doing her own thing. Emily did such a great job executing each of her scenes, she excudes nami's aura and attitude. And her love for nami's character is so cute.
Garp isn't a bad grandpa...he has his reasons for making sure Luffy is a marine...who knows when they are gonna discuss that on here...so hopefully they get another season and you get to see some of the areas in the grand line
I mean I don’t think you don’t need to explain too much why garp doesn’t want his grandson to become a pirate when he’s a marine, like it’s the same as if garp was a police officer and luffy wanted to be a thief or a drug dealer
Garp wasn't corrupted by anything. He knows his place in the world and he's doing what he can that he knows is right. There's nothing beyond friendship with the Straw Hats just mentioning that.
I always loved how Mihawk grows to respect Zoro. He didn't give a shit, probably just saw him as some arrogant punk. But Zoro didn't retreat, he didn't make excuses. He took the loss like a man after Mihawk saw the conviction and heart in his eyes. Zoro taking the cut most likely sealed it. It was only a few minutes, but Mihawk grew from seeing Zoro as nothing to a potential and worthy challenger one day.
Watching your reaction when u guys first met Sanji brought tears to my eyes. Like it brought my memories back in the day when I watched the anime & met the character Sanji 😊
nah you two are my favorite reactors on one piece love seeing new people entering this amazing story and adventure bros laugh kills me everytime and your girlfriends sarcastic funny comments kills me i swear earned a sub
I love yalls reviews! I’ve been watching them all! One point I’d like to add though is that Oda (the creator of OP) said that he wanted no romance between the crew in the live action…there is also no romance in the manga/anime, which sets OP apart from a lot of other shows in my opinion. No love triangles or bad plot lines. It’s just pure adventure.
One of the reasons I LOVED this episode with the introduction of Mihawk (and even with Garp throwing the cannonball the way he did) is that it gave us a taste of how the power scaling hasn’t been fully explored yet and the ceiling can go much higher! It’s super exciting! Also the Mihawk situation not only reaffirmed Zoro’s goal… but it also made Luffy declare his dream in a serious tone for the first time too 🤩
In case you haven't noticed... or maybe, other viewers have already commented... but the opening title credits featuring different logos are actually inspired from Eiichiro Oda's actual drawings of what each individual Strawhat pirate's jolly roger would be. Back during one of his first Q&As with the fans in the manga, they all knew that Luffy's jolly roger was the skull with a straw hat. Then Oda was asked to draw them for the rest of the straw hats too,
"fish in the fish." Seems like they mostly serve prime rib. Which I thought was weird. But then, it's a world that's mostly ocean, so beef is probably for people with money
Fun fact: That Garp is Luffy's grandpa we discover in 313 episode of the show....so it's like 5th season of Live Action xD They decided to show it now, for more motivation to Garp (because in anime he play a little part in first episodes). And for my opinion it's not bad.

Casting for Mohawk was spot on. My favorite character for the live action. 2nd was buggy, they did it right with him
"I dont hunt rabbits using cannons"😂 The level of disrespect is immaculate. Its great to see this power scaling moment in live action
It’s such a great line. Really shows you how little he thinks of Zoro at that moment, and isn’t ready to take him serious
@@potatohildyI don't mind spoilers so have zorro beat Mihawk in anime yet ?
@@JaySewaniround 2 didnt happen yet but Zoro has a chance of beating him
@@JaySewanigo watch it, that will be a lot more fun for you i promise
@@JaySewani Nope, Zoro isn't there yet even 1000 episodes later. And not only hasn't he beat him but I don't think he's quite Mihawk level yet (although he might be getting close, Mihawk is possibly his next major opponent, or maybe the one after that, we'll have to see).
Luffy was saved by the hat, mihawk knew that the hat once belong to shanks. And mihawk has great respect for shanks.
Mihawk is an example of just how much stronger people are out there. There are just monsters of unfathomable scale out there.
Mihawk, Shanks, and Garp are kinda "endgame" characters, well Garp is more of a retiring one. But either way none of our cast can even scratch these guys at this point 😂
Sanji is probably my favorite character in One Piece, I really hope he gets more time to shine if we get a season 2.
Seeing how Netflix is pushing some context up like Garp, I could definitely see the “rest” of Sanjis back story being pushed up to season 2 when he takes a nickname that relates to it. I know I’m vague as hell but trying to avoid spoiling those who don’t know
I can't wait to see diable jambe
SPOILER
I really need Mr Prince in Alabasta, the Strawhats 007
"I'm not born to befriend ladies, I'm born to Love ladies" - Sanji
Probably gonna get edited later 😅 like the shanks line about pointing a gun
Netflix already confirmed a season 2!!! But it won’t be until 2025 until it comes out
Ya many others have said this, but in this world, The Luffy's crew are medium sized fish in a big pond.
Mihawk recognized Shanks hat; that intrigued him into letting them go
As a One Piece reader for 21 years, Zoro is my fav character in the manga, and this fight is always been one of my favourites. They did great in the live action, both actors for Zoro & Mihawk have my most respect 😎
I love your reactions, especially on eps 3 when you guys calling out Sigma Zoro 😂

Nami's backstory is probably my most favorite backstory of all the straw-hat crews.
Robin nami interchangeable imo. But yeah nami's backstory was the most classic
It's also the one that hooks most people in the series. The park scene and the Nami scene was the turning point for me when I realized how deep this story was going to be.
@@bate_0o7 the cry and the epic walk 🥵

@@mrfool3545 most thing i like about robin is how mature she is. and how she forced herself to the crew and later they would go to suicide mission for her
Love that sanji smiled at the receipt knowing Zeff would be pissed.
I love the appreciation for Mihawk's character. This guy is simply magnificent!
"Frog in the well... Know how big the world is." Mihawk is such a badass
It’s one of the most flawless portrayals ever.
wish they showed his coffin raft
THANK YOU for this reaction, so good!!!
the whole conversation with zoro that nami has is her trying to suss out if they're actually going to be angry at her when she reveals her secret, it's her assessing if there'll be a double standard, plus nami has her reasons, her having a secret doesn't make her points invalid about having marines following them all the time because of luffy
this is so true. i actually got a bit sad about the lack of motivation to like... give nami the benefit of the doubt
Mihawk is cool so much
So ecstatic you guys are loving this show as much as the rest of us!! It’s always nice to see people enjoy the one piece universe
fun fact: the actor who played sanji actually took up tae kwan do and kickboxing to prep for the role. and he actually learned how to be a chef. he was so good at it, he actually made meals for the cast and crew himself.
✨The way you talk and develop theories is something interesting to watch ✨
Its 3:35am but i will not sleep until i watch this 🔥✨
I love love Mihawk and his accent. He sounds so blase 😂
0:56 you can also call it the merry go..its used in the Japanese dub
Yes. Garp is his actual grandfather. Garp’s full name is *Monkey D* Garp.
@@KishyTheFishy52yeah hope they add more episodes next season, let things breathe a bit
Mihawk is genuinely regarded as one of the fan favorite characters, nobody hates him and everyone loves him lol! Glad you guys like him as well!
Well there are people who lost some screw that believe that he is a fraud
lol what are you talking about? live action yes but mihawk is quite literally the most slandered character in one piece and hes not a fan fav. dont mix live action with anime
@@custardbrainy1653 what? Who ever talks bad about Mihawk? I’ve never seen that at all in the OP community

@@custardbrainy1653they’re many that love Mihawk. The man is the goat , y’all just hate on him cause y’all are pro shanks or hate on Zoro.
The CGI when Mihawk cut the little cannonball was insane! Very good stuff.
Nami's backstory is like one of the main Anchor hooks that made me got engaged in One Piece .
Mihawk is a glimpse into the type of power that is waiting for the crew once they enter the grand line
the Introduction of the God Hawk. "I don't hunt rabbits with a cannon" is one of the best lines in anime
The anime line was diff
He never said that in the anime, dude
You're watching a different anime.. 😂
This series gets it. It’s about found family and freedom; it seeks to dismantle systems of subjugation and its surrogates; it’s goofy and heartfelt. This is One Piece. Straw Hats, Unite!
Mihawk was so good. Maybe my only notes are that he actually smiles more in the anime.
Damn im so happy to people react to one piece live action. I loved it very much. I keep on watching over and over again ❤
There's nothing beyond friendship with the Straw Hats just mentioning that.
in this series when someone recognizes Luffy's hat, its a clue that they were friends with Shanks.
Mihawk is probably the nicest warlord among the 7.
mihawk is my favorite as well and always has in the manga and anime , they did mihawk AMAZING IN THIS LIVE ACTION!
Daddy Mihawk is here. Well Mihawk is great in the anime/manga but the live action did him justice and even cooler.
Young Mihawk was in the first episode opening standing below in the crowd along with others that we have seen through out this past 5 episodes.
Usopp has insane eyes, dude can see miles away and in the fog.
17:35 its hard to tell because of the edit but i think this OST is a remix of "Luffy vs Ratchet Round 1" when i heard it it gave me goosies.
The duel with Mihawk was basically a shot-for-shot recreation from the manga. They went HARD with this adaptation.
18:48 " I also don't want Mihawk to die" lmao
when you say Luffy's family is a lot... you have no idea... lol
Then you got his brothers and his father 😂
So much great actors in this live action series. I think they did an awesome job with all the casting, music, and everything.
I love that "ONE DISH" 😂
"I don't want Mihawk to die cause he's so cool looking"
Uhhhh xDxDxD Hahahaha
Then Oda was asked to draw them for the rest of the straw hats too,
The way Mihawk says 'I like your hat'.... bro I neeeed to know the history with Shanks lmfao
Never clicked so fast
For people who doesnt watchanime or read manga, this is obviously peak adventure series for them.
Hahaha. Mihawk let luffy go because of that Strawhat. The greatest swordsman knows Shanks. Nice hat!!! 😉
"fish in the fish."
Seems like they mostly serve prime rib. Which I thought was weird. But then, it's a world that's mostly ocean, so beef is probably for people with money
Fun fact: That Garp is Luffy's grandpa we discover in 313 episode of the show....so it's like 5th season of Live Action xD
They decided to show it now, for more motivation to Garp (because in anime he play a little part in first episodes). And for my opinion it's not bad.
Usopp and Luffy sharing the same braincell is also pretty accurate to the source lmao
