How To Update Aucar Tesla Style Head Unit To The Latest Firmware

- I will be going over how to update to the latest android settings and how to install the correct steering wheel canbus settings to head unit. Just to let you know I was sent this head unit to review and give my honest opinion of how it performs not being sponsored or paid for my review.
Update Steps:
1. Your USB stick should be formatted as FAT32 and be empty before use.
2. Is the name correct? The correct name is "update_e.zip". If the download is repeated, the name "update_e-1.zip" or "update_e(1).zip" will appear, which is incorrect. The unit cannot recognize the file to be upgraded.
3. Check that the file format is correct. The correct format is the compressed format of zip. If you don't understand, you can google it.
The files in the link I sent are all files with the correct name and file format. Some computers will automatically decompress the file after downloading (MAC users have this problem). The result is that it cannot be upgraded. In this case, you can search on Google for how to solve the problem that the downloaded file on the computer will be automatically decompressed
4. The file location must be in the root directory of the usb stick. If the upgrade file is located in a certain folder, the device cannot detect the file and therefore cannot upgrade.
5. Determine whether the Usb stick is connected normally, and whether our device has read the U disk. If it has been read, you can see the USB stick icon in the upper right corner of the screen, or you can check it in the file manager. See USB storage options.

My Mr. one stop shop for this radio unit. First of all I appreciate your videos. You got me on and purchased this radio unit for my 18 WRX and I gotta say WAY better than the IDOING unit. Is there a way you can get me in contact with this "Eric" Guy. I'm in the process of installing an amp/sub install within this week and I have concerns on whether or not this REM/blue Remote cable will automatically kick in or will I need to toggle something within the head unit to get BASS. My concern is the FACTORY AMP toggle button is there but once toggled the sound is completely muted/low and wondering if this will affect my quality of music once the sub is installed. Appreciate the feedback, I love what you're doing and thanks for influencing me on getting this head unit. :)

Its funny that AUCAR actually links everyone to this video for instructions, so congrats on that.
I followed all the instructions and I get a hash missmatch error on mine that is driving me crazy. Also unsure why you need to add the .zip in the file name if the file is already in a zip format. If I do that, it completely breaks the file and will not try to read.
There is a part on there where the file has to be labeled a certain way that helped me out but I did mention it in the video. It’s at the 3:20 mark of video because that gave me an issue the first time I tried till I changed so maybe that will help.
@@MoJoNinjaGarage I was aware of that part. So the issue is that they tell you to put a .zip in the name even though it’s a zip file. That’s not needed and will actually break the file I have found.
Also it seems like if you go into the updater manually to run it it may fail.
I guess you need to let it pop up on its own which again makes no sense if there is an updater section.
Seems like you cannot move the file to local storage and update either.
After about 147 attempts, it finally worked.

I would prefer the Tesla style radio if I’m being honest. This thing is really nice and has a lot of functions and very intuitive to use from my experience so far. I really enjoy using it.

these things have internet connectability you should be able to update right from the head unit
You think this could fit on a 23 base wrx?
Naw, the dash set is much different but they may be coming up with a unit that would fit. From what they told me this is the first updated version for my body style.
Ok so I'm trying to download I hit direct download then I drag the file to my usb but when I try to open in a pop up says corrupt file what am I doing wrong
@@franksilk3878 you may need to format the drive before downloading to it, then try to download again and like in the video it should be labeled a certain way to allow the unit to open it.
I put in a screen password and now I can't take it off, also my radio won't work unless I unlock the screen. Do you know how to take the screen lock off?

I don't follow what you are asking. You would have to call or go the aucar website and go to contact and send them the firmware you have so they can determine the update you need.
