What a beautiful story about a generous family who were recycling pioneers way before most people. The property is so beautiful. I loved their outdoor kitchen and their house. Those two large picture windows no doubt offered many hours of viewing.
Stories like this give me such joy. To maintain and keep land the way it was meant to be is such a gift to the world. Thank you for sharing your life and story with us.
So amazing, so lush, so wonderful to find this short film of Nantucket and this bit of real history with real people, places and things... Marvelous!!!
I love Nantucket. I go up at the end of September for my birthday. I have not be up the past 3 years because of COVID and this year I will have to cancel my plans -- and not happy about it. So I have taken some photographs of the Ottison's property to remind me of what I am "missing" and hopefully will be up there next year. Although maybe I could go up for the Christmas Stroll. Thank you for preserving the "real" Nantucket! No airs and graces -- just the real deal! And I appreciate that so much!
I love the thinking behind what the Ottisons have done with their property. At least there will be a bit remaining of what all of Nantucket used to be. Well done!!!
Bless them for not selling out for the almighty dollar. I can only imagine what the developers would do with that property in an effort to make as much money as possible. Good, decent people giving back in the most selfless way.
My former in laws are from the cape. So much history…what a great story…10th generation Nantucketer! Very cool. Wonder if they have any Native American blood…what a great story. Too beautiful an area to be developed. How uplifting…thank you.
Beautiful baskets, I have 2 antique Nantucket baskets! As soon as your video began I saw yours. Maybe one day I’ll make it to this paradise, thanks for sharing…..
please filled me in this place, is it in USA??? or other country, which part of the country ?? how I get there ?? love the place, always dream about the country living, i am age of 83, thanks in advance.
But the Ottison’s are energy conscious. I would agree that Nantucket is a playground for the rich, these folks are trying to preserve for eternity how it once was that is the purpose of the land bank.
What a beautiful property and a wonderful story! Thank you to the Ottison family.

Wonderful gift to Nantucket. Amazing, sensible, creative family.

They are great. Good people. They show us we have lost our way. I am crazy about them and their history and lifestyle.

An awesome story with awesome people.

Well good to know the best is over and done. I won't worry about visiting, which had been important to me at one time.

My family used to vacation every Columbus Day weekend on Nantucket. We stayed in the Wharf Cottages. They were built on docks & were floating.

@@nancykoo4156 Nantucket island is off Cape Cod, part of Massachusetts, a northeast state in USA. Hope you get to visit.
@@maryalice5357 thanks very much, I’ll check it out, have a good day
Nancy, you get there by ferry.
While the wharf cottages are cool they’re definitely not floating.
Developers always think that money solves every problem.
Very nice
Are yinz Norwegian? My uncle was and spelled his name Otteson and he lived in Wisconsin.
I would hardly say Nantucket is energy conscious. It is the playground for the rich.

Too bad. I wish there was someone who would love it and not turn it into the “land banks” of the Hamptons.
They have wealth beyond belief in their beautiful property and home!! OMG what more could you ask for or want? Not me, I love and respect them
