This battle is a lot easier If you dont break Riku"s revenge counter. If you do break it, Riku will always counter with circular mines + dive attack after. So something like stopping after 1 combo or so and backing off. You know you did break it if Riku teleports away after your hit.
I actually did not realize till you mentioned it; the ring of mines followed by a plunge is his retaliation move for hitting his revenge value. It's just so much more drawn out than the other battles that it totally went over my head.
This is a future person. I panicked alot when fighting him. But I rolled out of the way alot and smashed the attack button and got super lucky. I didn't lose my kupa coin either. The thing that saved me was rage form bc it has invincibility frames when doing reprisal attacks when he throws his keyblade and destroys the mines and goes through the lightning
Revisiting this video since fighting him Critical with 10 out of the 13 Pro Codes is true masochism (I allow myself Items, Cure and Formchanges). I've beaten him on "Standard" Critical and can do it relatively easily now, but Pro Codes make him extremely punishing.
Hate to give the first dislike but I noticed so many instances in which he didn't behave as you said he would. Not only that, but after I finally survived his desperation move thinking I could beat him, he started using attacks you never even mentioned. Now I'm stuck and don't know what to do. Edit: I take it back, I realized that whether or not he uses that attack at all in the fight is rng so it's possible you just haven't seen it enough to understand it. If anyone is wondering when he does his slahing dash thing, you can guard it and prompt Risk Dodge. Even if you miss the risk dodge, you can attack him afterwards.
At 0:35 I first heard "Literally the sky is tripping over his own words" and thought that explains why the sky turns dark during his DM haha. This is definitely my favourite vid of yours, you tore through him like it was nothing! Can I ask how you would rank the Data Battles in terms of difficulty?
Riku moves way too fast and I just can’t keep up it’s almost been a week and the only data battle I’ve beat is Young Xehanort and I’m starting to feel a little defeated
This one’s way too confusing and too fast for me, i just get fairly against 3 of his moveset. And just spam dodge, block and heal on the rest. Managed to win somehow lol.
Why do I have to turn off sonic cleave an exploit airstep + quickslash just to punish a fucking opening? the design of this game is trash, I shouldn't need to equip very specific ability sets I don't want just for 1 boss to work correctly. KH2 Data fights still worked with any abilities. I can guard and avoid his moves just fine but the stingy 10 frame openings are shit. there's no reason the frame windows have to be so abysmally small. it just makes the fight clunky, long and frustrating.

Finally paid attention to this comment and you were 100% right. The flow to this fight is amazingly better when you don't hit Riku's RV.

I hate this game. It feels like you either have to fight the boss a very specific way or die. Doesn’t feel like you have lots of freedom like in kh2

In my opinion, data xigbar and luxord were the easiest and most fun, xion was the hardest for me because i barely had time to think lol

How do u shotlock and go straight into q combo? I always do the slow flow attack

@@stephanbarger3816 You have to turn off 1 of your flowmotion attacks in the ability menu. I think it's sonic cleave, but i'm not sure

This is three months late but try turning off Aerial Dodge but leave air slide on in your abilities menu
