I don't think being called MJ's best teammate is an insult. And MJ always acknowledges that he never won a ring without Scottie.

He means even though he was called his best teammate, he was never given enough credit and always got the blame and when you see the last dance you can see how Jordan actually is being condescending even when for example Pippen has a migraine, he says he could not argue to the point where Pippen has or not. He does not even believe that.. He also blames him when he was incredibly underpaid and did not want to go to surgery during summer and the list goes on...

@Hm that's not the insinuation. We TREAT Michael as the superior and he is very clearly trying to state that much of the praise ppl give him should be directed at Pippen instead due to their duo being the formula for 6 rings. Using your thought process, there is literally no way Michael could give praise to Scottie that wouldn't be seen as condescending due to the level of respect each of them are given.

I don't think Jordan really believes that. I think Jordan believes that he would have won rings with any decent team. And I'm sure that's true. Without Pippen they would have plugged someone else in there and won. Pippen is overrated because of how great MJ was.

When MJ won the 1997 finals mvp, he said with millions watching at home and thousands in the United Center, that Scottie was his mvp. And for many years after that, including the documentary, he has always given him credit and praise. Scottie also had MJ induct him into the HOF. I just recently found a video on youtube of Scottie at a hornets game surprising MJ in his owners box and both hugging and happy to see each other. Scottie all these years has mostly had good things to say about MJ. So has Scottie been lying all these years and only pretended to like MJ, or is he lying now just to sell books? Yes, MJ's production company produced or at least was a part of the last dance, but MJ himself did not. If he doesn't like how he was portrayed in it, then blame the director or prod. company. I've never agreed with Stephen A more!

    1. MJ has always thanked his teammates, even in post game interviews when the press tried to steer the attention toward him only.
    2. He has given Scottie plenty of credit on countless occasions, including MJ's hall of fame speech.
    3. No, Mike didn't win without Scottie Pippen, but ALL of those players also rode MJ's coattails to every ring with that dynasty.
    4. If we're really being honest about it, The Last Dance WAS about Michael Jordan, as it should have been.
People did not watch it to see Scottie's last season with the Bulls...or anyone else's for that matter. People tuned in because they got a rare, exclusive look MJ...and his supporting cast. It is what it is, and Pip is definitely in his feelings about something. Last time I checked, Michael never sat out the last seconds of a playoff game the way Pip did either. And Pip should remember that when he wants to talk about being a team player.

I think what he and many people missed is that the majority of people were focused on Michael during his era of play. People who didn't watch basketball began watching because of Michael. Back then, men who didn't wear athletic clothing began wearing Nike gear or tennis shoes because of Michael. The brutality Michael experienced on the court and how his little self bounced up off of the ground brought out a special level of intriguing.
I got my mom into watching the Bulls before leaving the state. Who was her player? Michael! She got our prissy, feminine, non sports watching neighbor hooked on Michael too. Not Scottie! After moving to another state they would remind each other and call me when Michael was coming on. Not Scottie! My mom and I believe Pippen and the rest of the team played at their level because Michael demanded it. To me, that speaks volumes! Michael was a "rockstar" playing basketball! He's the person who people all over the world wanted to know. It wasn't Pippen nor the others at Michael's level.
Yes, we liked the others but we wanted Michael's life. We weren't gloating about Scottie, Kukoc, Kerr, Harper, or Rodman and we loved them. But, at least how I felt back then and even now, our hearts were for Michael. The irony in what Pippen says is........ If Michael wasn't who deserved the stage and Scottie or any of the others was the best player, why haven't they come out with their own documentary? Sales would show who people were interested in. I'm glad he's mad and living a miserable life of envy. Ridiculous! Wouldn't have thought he was such a wussy.

“Michael Jordan would never be Michael Jordan without those teammates” of course, basketball is a team sport, your achievement is based on others for sure. Lebron wouldn’t be Lebron without those teammates, Curry wouldn’t be Curry without those teammates, to me these are all nonsenses. As a secondary player, you just have to ask yourself why you’re not becoming an alpha player and not blaming your alpha player. Any player needs each other, the question is, if you take out Michael Jordan or if you take out Grant or Toni, which option is affecting the game and team most. Your alpha player is always impacting the most.

MJ is worth way more money. Who do you think mainstream media is going to side with? All mainstream media is owned by the same 6 people if you trace it back far enough. Those 6 people all belong to the same "brotherhood" that also makes an enormous amount of money off MJ's brand. Everything you're hearing here is money-based. 100%.
I have nothing against MJ and he's obviously a great basketball player, but Pippen obviously has the right to speak his mind. And Pippen is perhaps one of the most under-rated players in NBA history. Also, note Pippen has *never* said anything negative about MJ's abilities on the court. Pippen has always praised MJ for that a lot. And he isn't criticizing MJ's basketball skills here at all here but they're reacting like he did which is a strawman fallacy.
Pippen is just defending his own playing abilities as he should.

MJ in fact returned and once they had a full season with him they established the wins record and won more championships. What was the deciding factor in them winning more titles? Michael Jordan. He carried the most burden and elevated others to play to his demands and standard, regardless of their opinion on him as a teammate, his attitude and mindset is what pushed other to give their best within the Bulls' system.

Scottie just felt slighted on "The Last Dance" because he didn't receive more acknowledgement of his own talents. Up until then, he had only been complimentary of Jordan. His criticism should be directed to the producer, not Jordan.

i think pippen wants more of a stockton malone, kareem magic, shaq kobe type of thing.

You guys can't tell Scottie how to feel! He felt like the last dance was condescending to his legacy. And there are probably other things unspoken that they went through. Scottie has historically called Mike the best player, he just feels different about him as a teammate and a friend.

and yet MJ is the sole reason Pipp has that kind of legacy

IDC what they say about each other, those two men, Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen were, are and will always be childhood heroes for our generation and legends, well to me anyways. I can't think of the greatness of one without thinking of the greatness of the other.

Scottie never won a championship without Jordan and the other way around, but from what I saw Jordan gave Scottie the credit

The Last Dance is just a Jordan Propaganda movie even though I think he is the Undisputed GOAT of basketball. Not gonna lie, I still enjoyed it

Can I just say that this is all so darn sad man… Scottie seems to be in his feelings for nothing. He thinks that we’re bashing him or disrespecting him because he wasn’t better than Jordan. Dude, no professional basketball player is or was better than Jordan. Also just the fact that he’s trying (possibly unknowingly) to tarnish the greatness of that Bulls dynasty is just terrible imo. Im praying for that brother, and hope that he finds true peace.

Yes it was never Michaels fault bro was dropping 30 points per game and absolutely carried the bulls when Scottie was being selfish with his injury in 97-98 season
