Last one from me; I know there have been mentions of us exploring the Championship for talent. I've been making the point of Andy Diouf from Lens, but Jobe Bellingham would also be a great signing. 6'3, naturally fit, healthy balance between positive defensive and attacking contributions. He's an 8. That's what I want my 8 to look like. Someone excelling with both their attacking and defensive contributions, not falling short in both. I mentioned Andy Diouf because he's left footed and I am a big advocate for players playing in positions that suit their strong foot as I think it benefits percentages.. IE, left footed left backs, right footed right backs, left footed RWers, right footed LWers, left footed left CBs etc) but Jobe looks like he is going to be one hell of a player. Still think adding a CF who is going to be able to do the job Antonio used to do for us should be the priority, but having said previously I feel that CF, CM (and possibly LB) should be our next areas to address, Jobe makes my list of resounding yes's.
To answer your question, Russ. I have seen him play and the answer is 'No', he wouldn't suit our needs right now (Yuri Alberto). We need a CF who is going to be happy to stand up there alone and cause havoc like Antonio used to. Then we need a solid formation behind them. We need to stick to 4-2-3-1 this season. Though people had 'had enough' of it all by the time we played Everton, we didn't concede and were missing 2 very key players. Add someone to the group who is single handedly gonna cause problems up top, Summerville and Bowen either side of them, Kudus as the 10 with Alvarez and Souceck behind them and use Paqueta as a mailable piece (possibly as an 8 against lesser sides or possibly as an option to alter the front like) and we will be more than fine for the rest of the season. If we are really identifying Yuri Alberto in Jan, Tim (again, like I said in my last comment) needs his head checked.
What system? Lol. Lopetegui might not be here in January, who knows what system we might have morphed toward. I agree with you but the thought popped into my head.
With the club seeming to be in a real mess and uncertainty about Tim and Lope etc. how can we be thinking of signings - is there to be a new manager? Is Tim still going to be around? Will it be Sullivan taking all the decisions? I find it a bit bizarre - why buy players when the club is directionless. And wasn't there supposed to be a big meeting yesterday? What happened? Would you come and play for a club that seems to be spiralling downwards? Until the management of the club is sorted out any new signings would make internal squabbles even worse, surely.
Here's an idea for a video, Russ. Players signed in the summer, who claimed them, rating out of 10 (judged on value for money and impact at the club since joining)
@@ralphenjoyingthesun4233 Sure I can. Fulk is slow, old, severely overpriced and injury prone with no sell on value. Bad signing. 2/10. I can keep going.
@damiandamico4715 thsts Bs his injury record has been fine last few yrs .. Harry kane isnt fast he holds the play and uses those around him to lay it off to .. Anyway thats the end of my convo on this subject with you 👍
@@ralphenjoyingthesun4233 Fulk was a bad signing. Simple. This injury he sustained wasn't even in game. Even if Fulk was fully fit all season, he still wouldn't of been a good signing. The injury really is the cherry on the cake. Let's not forget that Lop didnt start him when he was available in anything other than a cup game against Bournemouth B-Team in which he still only managed 14 touches. I could see why that game. He doesn't run, he just stands around. You're not going to respond to my comment and tell me the conversation is over, either. If you have concluded your points, simply stop talking. PS. Comparing Kane to Fulkrug is a lazy, lazy comparison.
Not the time for project players. We need the finished article in January-someone who can walk in and immediately improve our starting XI. An 18-year-old playing for Nürnberg is not going to do that. I don't think Yuri Alberto will either. We should be looking at a loan to buy on a CF; even if we have to pay slightly over what we think the valuation of the player is. Were playing with fire atm with the dreaded R word and that largely has to do with all our CFs are not the level required (not pressing the back line enough). If Tim is flirting with the idea of project players in Jan, he needs his head checked.
As soon as you mentioned 16 million, I turned off. You'll need to add £15 for some incontinence knickers for when short arse's pants explode at the thought of shelling out that type of money. Far better adopting the cheap and cheerful approach and aiming for 17th or above. A bit like the cheap and grateful clueless manager we currently have. Dear o dear what a circus.
I know, can't remember the last time we spent 16 million on a player. And we definitely have never finished much higher than 17th and certainly never had 3 European campaigns back to back.
@damiandamico4715 And look at all those wonderful managers we bought out of their contracts to come here and fulfill their potential. Far better to spend the money on a manager who knows where to play those 16+ million players you allude to.
"Just saw a Facebook post from West Ham United News & Views about the rumor that Steidten may be taken off recruitment. As I said on my call-in, the status quo is to bash the board, but when you break it down, Steidten's summer recruitment has been pure and utter cack. Füllkrug (injury record as long as my arm), Guilherme (at least 2 years before he’s potentially ready to be a top PL player), and Todibo (I just can’t see a £40 million CB in him). Let Noble pick the CF in January. 😤😤😤😤🦾⚒"

You said everything I'm thinking, Russ. We need someone who is going to drag us up the pitch. I keep saying it, an Akor Adams profile.
West Ham and strikers are two things that don't go together.
Our coach doesn't know what formation to go with he should know by now he has got to go along with that title david Sullivan
Another one to be in the squad but never gets game time Russ
Muani or Sorloth on loan with an obligation would be a huge positive.
