Nothing beats the sound of an EMD diesel notching up! 🥰 I went pre-COVID, a miserable day weather wise but seeing all those trains sure made up for it. I got to walk through a B class and toot the horn on a T class. Big kid fantasy fulfilled! :)
Just caught up to this video, well worth it indeed. I use to volunteer with SRHC as a Train Officer, and they were great times! I do like the direction they’re taking to try and cater to the travel/tourism market. Great video, particularly including the footage of the 707 Ops and SRV tours roaring up there!
Will, wow, what an interesting place. I saw a number of locomotives, and went, I have a model of that one, and that one, and that one. You get the idea. The classic Diesels that I love. Thank you for sharing some information on what is a very interesting centre. Cheers, and stay safe, Michael
When I went there on the Sunday, I wasn't expecting to see A2 986! It was a wonderful time, and blowing the horn on X31 is an experience I'll never forget!
Drove the kids down from Wodonga for the day and had a great time, especially the cab ride. My daughter loved pulling the horn 😅 keen to come back next open day!
Super nice video! There is me on 5:43 videoing the ceremony of S307. I went there on the 29th April, and my favorite locomotives are B74 & T357. Thanks for sharing the info. Cheers, Rifky.
We were there on April 29. Drove across from Castlemaine. It was a brilliant day! Got to ride in the diesel and chat to some really great volunteers and guys who worked on the trains.
i was at the srhc on the 29 along with 707 operations but sadly i missed out on some of the cool events that happened like the reactivation of S307 and the turning of R707 on the turntable i just hope i dont miss out on anything in the Newport workshops open day next year
Great video mate, was certainly an enjoyable weekend. Have been a member/volunteer for several years at SRHC, and been on heaps of their tours. They certainly do have a very nice collection of rollingstock and locos.
Great, origination and good video Will. I lived there years ago and often called in to see customers in Seymour and had never seen this before. I will have to go back now Ime retired 👍
G'day Will, thanks for the heads up on the event and group, l will have a look next year as l don't live to far away, cheers mate, keep on tracks, Neil.
Nice video Will. SRHC is a group I would like to ride a tour with one day. Hopefully they will do there Traralgon Walhalla tour to Gippsland and that's a tour I would like to ride. - Nicholas.

Dam, I was heading to puffing Billy on the 29th but saw r707 leave for Melbourne, no idea that this was happening and the next day I was at puffing billy, so I kinda missed it.
