I first took this journey..alone...in 1984 as a 14 year old child going to boarding school...after arriving in Victoria I took the circle line on the underground to Paddington station where I met up with the rest of the pupils for the coach trip to Exeter....at the age of 53 now I often wonder how I managed it!
That was my first rerun of the journey since those days...
Thanks for a great video I really enjoyed that train ride...people like you make youtube wonderful!
Wow, such a lovely story. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. Please don't hesitate to come back and watch more videos. It's awesome to hear other people's stories of the British Rail.
I was about 11 when i first started going to see my father in Brighton from London, Alone?
I grew up in Brighton and have used this line many, many times. The ckass of trains I used as a kid were the slam door type. I remember the indicator boards being all paper signs that rotated on a woiden board and a plank of wood with white lettering, showing the station stops as you entered into the platforms. Such great memories.
I love Brighton
We all do?
Its not Brighton and Hove its just Brighton...Hove is a seperate completely different station in Hove?

Baguettes are not available on this service?

Hi , Do i have to buy an online ticket or i can buy at the station
and which one is better thameslink or sountern line
Thank you 😀
You have ticket machines at almost every station however it is cheaper online and in advance. And you can choose between southern or thameslink depending on who is cheaper, since they are using similar trains.
