    Have you had the experience where after this installation, when you turn on all your headlights while the engine running on, the radio stops working??

    • @HammerWrench

      I haven’t had that experience. Since the harness is prewired, I wonder if maybe the dimmer trigger is causing the issue. It would require identifying that wire and cutting it. Not sure which one it is tho.

    Did you have an issue where the audio goes mute when you open the trunk?

    • @HammerWrench

      I did not have that problem. Don’t even know where to start suggesting where to look! Wonder if one of the trunk hinges are touching a speaker wire and grounding it in the trunk.

    Does this work for a 2007 Toyota Avalon limited with JBL system?

    • @HammerWrench

      You would need this JBL adapter in place of the power cables included with the stereo. amzn.to/43zFeg2

    Is the steering volume buttons work or you just need to use the + and - button in the Car Play unite manually?

    • @HammerWrench

      I did get the steering wheel buttons to work. There is a menu where you select the button name and then push it on the steering wheel to program it.

    Do you think purchasing a different back up camera would work?

    • @HammerWrench

      That’s a good possibility. Try the one included while installing the radio. That’s what I did and may have just had a defective camera.

    • @HammerWrench

      It works great. For the money, you get wireless car play and very decent audio output. I was surprised it sounded that good. Wouldn’t hesitate to buy another of that type.

      @@HammerWrench hey i’m 18 looking to put this in my first car. is it still running well to date?

    • @HammerWrench

      I was surprised at how well it functioned and sounded. I was skeptical at that price point but risked it for wireless CarPlay, and I haven’t regretted it. I would have bought this for all my vehicles if they didn’t have pioneers with wired CarPlay. The back up camera isn’t great but that’s an easy buy for an upgraded unit.

    I'm installing a similar radio in my 2011 Camry. But my volume adjustment on the radio doesn't work at all. Do you have any suggestions to fix this? I saw online that someone connected a blue amp out wire to the red power wire on the harness to fix a low volume issue

    • @HammerWrench

      Hmm. I didnt have to deal with this issue. Did you have the JBL stereo system on the stock radio? If so, it requires an additional harness to get the stock amp to work. Did you set up the steering wheel volume controls in the new unit and see if that controls the volume? Only thing i can think of other than these is that maybe the harness has a speakers polarity backwards causing it. I would try the amp out to the red wire like you read first. Dont know why that would work since the red should be switched power and the blue should receive headunit power once it is powered on.

    • @AutoRevLife

      @@HammerWrench the blue amp wire on the radio isn't connected to anything. I also don't have the JBL audio. I'm also not sure what's going on because almost no one can give me an answer on why this is happening

    • @HammerWrench

      @AutoRevLife I wonder if your headunit has an issue. If you are using Bluetooth, is your phone volume up? If it’s CarPlay/android that won’t matter. Is it all modes that are quiet? Radio stations or videos through the browser? Have you gone through the menu and made sure the equalizer has been tuned? Have you reached out to the seller(assuming it’s Amazon seller) for help?

    • @AutoRevLife

      @@HammerWrench I bought my radio from AliExpress. The volume is stuck at low for Bluetooth, medium for FM radio, and ear splitting loud for Android Auto. The only adjustment I can make from the radio is mute on or off

    • @AutoRevLife

      @@HammerWrench I haven't tuned the equalizer and I don't know how to. The Bluetooth volume is low, the FM radio is at medium, and Android Auto is ear splitting loud.
      I did consider the possibility that my radio is defective but that's not a path I want to go down yet until I've exhausted all of my options

    How do u tell if it's non jbl.. I have 2010 toyota camry hybrid

    • @HammerWrench

      Usually it says jbl somewhere on the radio face or possibly the speaker grilles. Also check the owners manual. Otherwise, if u don’t see it, it may be regular. If it turns out to be but unlabeled, the harness adapter is like $50 more bucks separately.

      What does non-jbl mean?@@HammerWrench

    • @HammerWrench

      Non jbl means it does not have an external JBL amplifier. Usually if it does, it is labeled on the radio face.

    Does this work with Toyota Camry 2007 hybrid?

    • @HammerWrench

      I think it’s all dependent on whether the factory radio is JBL or not. Usually it has a label on the radio face or the speaker grille if it is JBL.

    How does the amplifier compare with the factory one?

    • @HammerWrench

      This car doesn’t, as far as I know, have an external amplifier for the OEM system. I was very surprised at the clarity of the music after the install. Lows and highs were better than the stock sound in my opinion, and didn’t sound horrible the more I turned it up, like some android stereos. I was impressed and would buy it again.

    • @HammerWrench

      Sorry I’m not in Florida. This is a very easy install. You don’t even have to cut any wires! The hardest step is separating the AC controls from the stock radio. And that’s because I had to figure it out while doing it. Now you have the cheat sheet for doing it! It’s just plugs and screws. Set up your camera or take pictures it every step of the way, so you can back up when needed. It’s the same way I’d instruct our sons to do it. And when you succeed, it’s a confidence booster. Take a shot and let me know how you did here.

    • @HammerWrench

      Aww sorry to hear that. Check these things first. The radio fuse in the fuse panel. If it is good, check the fuse on the radio. Have a 12v line tester to make sure there is power reaching the radio on both the constant 12v and the switched ignition 12v. Make sure the ground is good. Check the pins in the plugs to make sure they aren’t bent or pushed out. If there is a reset button hidden on the face or the back of the radio, press it to reset the radio. If all of that doesn’t help, it may be defective from the factory and send it back for a replacement.
