A great episode....I adore Dougie...he is a helluva great engine tech, BUT in this episode the 2 things as to this engine Mark called him out for...the no sealer on the intake to valley pan and calling the valve cover studs exhaust studs...Mark was 100% correct . As to the third thing mark called him out on as to valve cover usage to engine families i am not sure so I will digress. One thing though...granted it's not seen but I would shoot a light coat of the orange on the bottom of the intake before installing it. i am guessing the valley cover pan will be covered quite nicely once Will does his painting magic. Thanks for another great episode guys!! More dissection too with the hood inner frame...an odd mess but fixed perfectly. I do wonder though, given as bad as that rot was how much of a weight difference there was between the swiss cheese scrap and its replacement. You guys never disappoint..more useful info easily explained🙂
Love the show! Dougie needs more training especially regarding torque. He didn't know the torque of the 1/4" dr. impact gun and he sure doesn't know the torque of the cordless ratchets especailly when he uses them without power to tighten as if they were a breaker bar.
Pretty sure Brody would do a better job putting a motor together. Didn't seal the intake, runs in the head bolts in a straight row with with an impact before torqueing them, continues to assemble parts with open ports and no valve covers leaving a ton of opertunity to drop some something down in the engine, hammers the balancer on like a monkey than uses an impact to seat it. Instead of using a balancer installer, he may have compromised a thrust bearing and also risked damaging the threads in the end of the crank. I get that the factory would paint the engine once it was assembled but it looks so much nicer and shows the time and effort and attention when you paint everything individually and have nice clean edges of new gaskets showing. And engine paint on exhaust manifolds, headers always burns off. Either coat ceramic coat them or use actual exhaust temp rated paint. And a good tip for painting a motor, take a torch to anything iron to draw the moisture out of the metal. That paint will stay forever. If you clean a motor and just blow it off with an air hose, it's not truly dry. The first time that engine gets up to temp, the moisture will wick out and peel that paint off before to long.
@blakebutcher Jealous much? 🤣 Other than Dougie forgetting to seal the intake manifold, which I almost believe was written into the show on purpose, everything else that you said means nothing. Absolutely nothing. Writing a Stephen King novel telling us about how to get the paint to stick when anybody who watches the show, which includes you because you know who Brody is, knows that part of what they do is to mimic the factory exactly, or as close as they can in most cases. They paint it the way the peeps did it on the assembly line. Have a good night butcher!!! Jealous much?
@LonnieBrewer-dd4wi working on high dollar cars owned by car people means you have to pay attention to every detail. The old lady who spends 100k on a Mercedes doesn't care as long as it runs and it doesn't leak on her driveway. Mean while the guy who dropped $50k at a shop on his toy that likes to pop the hood every chance he gets will notice every little detail good and bad. Messy wiring, paint runs, leaks...etc. detail is everything when it comes to being proud of your work. I want people to pass my name along being proud of my work, not say "ehh they're alright"
I really like it when Alyssa's on she's very pretty she's knowledgeable I like to watch her grow with Graveyard Carz she is the Legacy
Omg this show is frigging hilarious/ marks a trip
I LOVE THE WAY DOUGY SHOWED THE PROCESS
Best episode yet...keep 'em coming! Great job!

Nothing like the bond and love between cousins lol
when mark learns respect is better than being rude, the world will know peace lol
🔥Looking Forward to Never Seen Before New Content being uploaded regularly to feed my addiction🙏 😊
Hahahaaaaa hope Cousin Dougie makes good money 😂
Fun vid, but, show us installing bolts with fingers before using power tools. And, Rocky came out in 1976, not 1978. Again, fun vid. ❤
Doug good on telling them how to put the engine

This show..is like Mike Tyson…
Mark, great show as usual... BUT! Get rid of the "intro music/singing!"
Motor Trend tv all but out of business Mark looking smarter all the time.

@MaxRockatansky17 it's called expierence and knowing when something is wrong when you see it. I worked at hot rod shop for the better part of a decade
@@blakeschluchter Just because you worked in a hot rod shop doesn't make you any better than them.

@blakeschluchter We'll thank you Mr.Goodwrench.
Yaaaay your back
So, um, why the Kansas State Song?
Well....what do you think this is? The big times? Its his first engine.. givim a break...geesh. 😏
Mark I think you should do a character that Don Johnson did you make a good Don Johnson
You still hear i new too up the talk ?
i think this show would be better without marks input into everything imho
The irony is, Mark thinks he makes the show more entertaining, while he really makes the show unwatchable
I enjoy reading the cry baby comments.
is it me, or is Worman becoming more prevalent than Donald Trump on media?????
Wornan..May think he is an Actor...but the guy is a WACKO in real life i Bet!!!
