  • So, i have been wanting to get some acreage out of civilization for a while now. Been searching for months and finally found the right spot. almost 5 and a half acres remote land with rocks, tons of trees, and no people. Only 2.5 hours from home. The perfect bug out spot.

    This is gonna be awesome! I was looking at a house with 4 acres of land and woods. It even has a river running through it! It'd be a total dream to own it and build my own trails.

    That whole area has been getting bought up by Texans for years. The pricing has gone crazy compared to 3 years ago. The area is pretty but the hundred or so “strangers” that dot the main roads and that butt up to those properties is the reason I never pulled the trigger in Eastern OK. When SHTF those strangers will take whatever you have left up there. Too many people to be a defendable retreat. Good place to go camping with the fam though.

      Got any suggestions for a better place without the stranger's?

    That's awesome man I guess there are no springs or anything tho. I guess you'll need a well, maybe solar and a wind mill. Well at least you have a place to bug to when TSHTF in November. I heard property is getting expensive in OK. Well good luck with it bro.

    What do you think of oklahoma? Know anything about wilburton area? Positive or negetive.

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ive got mixed feelings about these rural land spots, sold mine after a few years. Wilburton was only 40 minutes north of where mine was. I know the place I bought from had some massive properties/communities up there I looked at online. Way too big in my opinion. I watched my peaceful spot change from quiet and private, to a dumping ground with squatters, to too many full timers living in the area, careless hunters, generators running all night, etc. It lost its charm. The towns dont have much, mine was near Clayton. Had a dollar general and a choctaw nation gas station and market. No one liked me rolling up with texas plates, lol. Any road not a 2 lane gets no maintenance, and I never left anything valuable up there between trips.
      It is the most beautiful part of oklahoma though, small mountains and forrest. Next time around I will buy more acreage away from these "subdivided" "rent to own" type spots. Taxes were dirt cheap though. lol

      If and when you make improvements, your taxes will go up. That would include fences, sheds, barns, or houses. Not sure about a driveway. I live in Oklahoma and each county has an assessor, a elected job, and it is their job to watch for improvements.

    • @RCeveryday

      it depends, location, elevation, tree coverage, etc. no water or electric are available either. 6 months ago you could get something like this for under $10k, but all real estate down here has been booming so its between 15 and 20k

    Do you think 10 acres and a lil trailer home for 60k a good deal in Oklahoma?

    • @RCeveryday
      @RCeveryday  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It all depends on where it is. Doesnt seem bad to me but im used to Dallas prices. Be sure to look up the address on the fema flood map site first, make sure its not all in a flood plain. Also depends on how far it is from the nearest town, grocery store, gas etc. If it has electric and water or a well, septic, etc. And what condition the trailer is in.

    Very cool, I’ve been looking for a piece of land too, but I hate the ones I found so far with so much off-roading I have to do just to get there.. seems like a lot of unpaved roads too over there. When I find one it will need a paved paved road no farther than 1/4 mile away 😅 but that could be pricey depending on the land
