- Blevins Harps takes you inside their workshop showing how these beautiful twin therapy harps are made. These hand crafted harps are going to Bedside Harps in Pennsylvania where they will be part of an amazing therapy program to bring healing and hope to others.
Blevins Harps is located in Grand Junction Colorado and is family-owned and operated. They produce Celtic harps and have a wide range of harp models made from all types of wood, including exotic.

What kind of wood do you use?
Sassafras, Butternut, Walnut, Maple, Cherry are most common wood types, but we will use other less common wood as well. We even built a beautiful harp out of an Apricot tree! Amazing sound, but heavier than other wood types.
What kind of wood is the neck and pedestal of. It looks oak...
The wood is Butternut. It's very lightweight - perfect for small harps.
I am appalled to see hand-held drills making holes for tuning pegs.
We initially use a drill press, then follow with a hand-held drill to fine tune the taper so that the peg fits perfectly.
That makes sense. Sorry for making waves.
How do you tie the bottom of nylon strings? At this point, I have only a "bean" lyre, and to try want colored strings. I may later advance to a harp.
