Actually AI has been around in our daily lives for longer than people think. But the systems were a lot simpler than they are nowadays and that is why they didn’t receive much attention. I am glad to hear you are optimistic about AI because I am a AI researcher myself. I am also working in the field of robotics driven by AI, and I hope robots get to have good impact on the lives of people in the near future because there is just so much potential.
As for the jobs I think that just as any revolution, such as the first, second and third Industrial Revolution, the job market will just transform. Some jobs outdated and new ones appeared and that is what is going to happen with this one but the transition might occur faster and people, specially younger people will need to adapt faster and prepare for the new market.
And even though there are powerful AI systems now, we will still need human beings who are expert in areas such as physics, biology and medicine among others because AI systems can be wrong so they DO need a human who knows whether they are inferring correctly or not. So I believe children and young people should learn about AI regardless of what they study so they understand the applications and limitations of these AI systems. Also they should choose a career path that is needed in the future. I knew before choosing path that STEM was one of the only choices for this decade (of course there are more but nothing safer than it). But I do see why you are worried about the market.

And one note about AGI, actually is more complex than that but I liked your answer anyway. Since you are interested in AI, I would like to let you know that AI can self learn at this moment (though human guided, called self-supervised learning), GPT used this self learning method and that is one of the reasons it is such a powerful system, joined together with human feedback (more specifically through RLHF).
The definition of AGI at this moment, as far as I know, is a system capable of handling multiple different tasks using the same algorithm it learned. the definition by Wikipedia is: “AI that matches or surpasses human capabilities across a wide range of cognitive tasks”
This is the reason OpenAI (the creators of GPT) were claiming its new version that can get images and audio is AGI because usually this requires several separate “narrow” AI systems. Yet GPT is considered emerging AGI. As there are five levels of AGI: emerging, competent, expert, virtuoso, and superhuman
GPT is considered AGI by some but others think it is too simple to be considered even the beginning of these type of systems because it should be able to do a broader number of different tasks better than human beings.

Thanks for sharing your insights as an AI researcher! I'm fascinated by AI and I couldn't say as much as I would have like to in such a short podcast. It's great to hear there is hope for the job market. I wonder if Universal Basic Income will ever be necessary. There are so many questions and things are happening so quickly! Thanks for sharing your thoughts, and from an IELTS point of view, your answer was fantastic!😀

@@bluebutterfly-m7y Yes, AGI is beyond me, but I understand there is a number of definitions depending on perspective. Thanks for elaborating; it's always great to learn more👍I've pinned your comment as this is a great resource for other students.

One of my favourite topics nowadays! Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the future of AI?🤔

No doubt that artificial intelligence would replace human activities on upcomin years. On one hand, this is considered to be positive as robots would have the ability to do housework, make surgeries, but on the other hand, they would replace humans and therefore would lead them to be unemployed. For instance, they would be cashiers in supermarkets, gas stations and A.T.M. would replace accountants at a bank.if humans and robots work side by side to fulfill the scientific and intellectual aspects together then we would feel optimistic about A.I.

@@sherrymohamed7874 Great points and a well-structured answer! By the way, 'would have been' suggests that something was intended to be something in the past but it didn't happen. For example, I would have been a doctor if I studied harder. (third conditional). Is this the grammar you intended for your example? Well done and thanks for sharing!

Hi! Good question and I answered this below. Here is my answer:
The question asked about a job which will be replaced by AI, and my direct answer was 'business/life coach'. However, as I don't know much about this topic area, I talked about it related to my life and business. In part 2, sometimes you will get questions or topics you are uncomfortable or unfamiliar with, so I recommend focusing your answer on areas you do feel comfortable talking about. In this case, I talked about business and my experiences with an AI business coach, so it was totally relevant to the question.

Last year, I experienced chat GPT it was deceiving, perhaps my questions and answers were not enough clear for the robot. So I abandoned quickly. Today after your video, I'll make another try...

To be honest, I am quite pessimistic about AI. Because I think It can cause a huge rise in the number of cybercrime and criminal break the law more easily than before. Apart from that, employees will lose their jobs which can lead to serious mental disorders.
