Wow! your work is an inspiration. and because of your work, i will be trying my first fondant ever. Been watching your vids and getting the tricks of the trade. Thank you for sharing. I do have questions though: 1. What is the powder you use when you brush your fondant before rolling? cornstarch or powdered sugar? 2. If I am making a dummy cake with fondant as practice. How long will that last? can it last forever? i am asking this because i will be practicing first with a styro cake and would want that be preserved for displaying puproses. 3. How do you estimate how much(in weight) fondant you need for a cake? Like for example the cake would be 6inches in height and 8 inches in diameter? Thats it for now...i have other questions in the future and hope you can help me with it. THanks! Ingat! :)
Thank you so much , I inspire again one decorator like you, I appreciate it and always be my pleasure , about your question the powder I used is cornstarch some icing sugar but I don’t want my fondant to be sweeter , dummy cake , the dummy cake will last but the color will fade moderately , amount of fondant for me I consumed 1kilo approximately by covering only with fondant but with decoration it will be more , I hope I answered your question and hoping it will help you, if you have question in your mind don’t hesitate to ask, thank you 🙏, happy caking 😊
I know what it takes to make a cake like that and of course if I tried, it will never come out as good because I’m still learning but I do know still how much work it is and I really hope you got paid well for it! I watch your cake making all the time and I try to get tips on how to do find it because every time I do it it’s either too thick or it’s too thin and it ends up stretching and tearing that’s probably the biggest problem I have with phones and it drives me crazy so if you have any tips on that, that would be great!
Thank you so much for the comment , and I really appreciated it, when covering the cake the thickness is atleast 3-4mm and don’t afraid to work it with your hand just don’t pull it down and stretch , most of the time it will crack and gives you elephant skin, worry free it’s normal but overtime you can manage it as professional… time will come and you will be .. keep in caking 😊🎂
