What is a Case Disposition or Status Check in Florida?

- If you’ve received a notice for a status check or a case disposition, it’s important to understand that this is not your trial. This is typically the first date after your arraignment, and this court date aims to figure out if there are any issues that the court needs to address initially, i.e. has the state given the discovery or the evidence over to the defense, which is when the defense is going to be looking through the discovery to see if there’s anything else the state needs to provide.
Whether or not you need to be at your case disposition or status check is up to your attorney, Many times, your presence can be waived.
