I had a speaking part in a Jack in the Box commercial in 1975. It isn't in your collection. It was another "Now you're cookin Jack" Ad. I have a still photo from it and the recording. :)
That Christmas candle tie-in for back in the day was oddly the sweetest thing; My dad was eating 10 of their tacos during the late 70s I think it was cause he was working hard and stoned too,
Yes! They changed the recipe and are using some weird panko blend crust. They used to be slightly sweet with a whole (not diced) onion ring and a cornmeal blend breading. There Junior cheeseburgers were made with nothing more than pickle slices and secret sauce as well, and they tasted better too.

Baxk in the 60's, the commercials always mentioned 'secret sauce' on the burgers. As kids, we enjoyed going there. Every order got a handful of big balloons to inflate. Goodtimes.

I really think Jack in the Box jumped the shark in the 80s, starting with that Better at the Box campaign and adding ever more fancy menu items and culminating in a ridiculous attempt to change their brand and their name. They didn't fully come back to their senses until their Jack's Back campaign in the mid 90s.

For some reason later they stopped putting the Secret Sauce on their burgers, it was one of the things that made their burgers taste so different and delicious, It's one of the things that made Jack In The Box burgers famous (like McDonald's Big Mac Special Sauce), it made them stand out from the standard ketchup, & mustard everyone else uses. 37:37 I recall that commercial and this was made when the 1993 Jack in the Box E. coli outbreak came out. My friends talked about that commercial and laughed our asses off when we thought "Oh that's the solution. Feed a giant destroying the city some tainted hamburger beef and that'll kill him."
i used to love those fried raviolis and an ultimate cheeseburger. my mom would complain jack in the box was too expensive. 93ish and she thought paying over $4 and change for a meal was crazy. now she thinks under $10 is a steal today.
You have to do a collection of the brilliant Dick Siddig 'Jack's Back' commercials. One of the greatest ad campaigns of all time. I'd literally pay at a movie theater to watch a couple of hours of those.
Jack is my favorite fast food but I live near Chicago so I can’t eat it regularly so watching these ads is like therapy for me. I absolutely love how they come full circle at the end with the return of Jack himself. Greatest mascot ever
My gosh, that chicken & mushroom sandwich at about 33:00 looks SO good. Never saw or tried it. Working there in the late 70's to early 80's, there were some really great items on the menu. The early steak sandwich that Rodney Alan Ripply talked about was pricy, but REALLY delicious. The burrito (chimichanga, really) was also great. The ham links on the breakfast menu were stellar. Most of the Supreme sandwiches were really good, the beef and cheese stood out. The Swiss & bacon burger on grilled rye was terrific. The chef salad was surprisingly good, but I could have eaten the taco salad every danged day. The croissant breakfast sandwiches were buttery and tasty, and the Sourdough Jack was a true great. I live back east now, and sometimes I miss Jack.
I'm glad to have seen proof that my favorite Jack in the Box items of all time (or close to it) that, sadly disappeared far too long ago. I couldn't find Jack squat about these Jack entrees and was beginning to wonder if I had just dreamed them up in my mind. The Cheese Nachos Supreme. And The Swiss & Bacon Supreme Burger Both from the mid-80's I really wish they'd bring those back. They gave Jack In the Box a purpose in my life....when hungry. That firetruck was actually in the 60's. They used this commercial to introduce drive thrus and how fast they were to be processed. Jasck in the box was the first to introduce Drive Thrus in Houston

Most of it, while having to be fresh since the food is almost always being sold through and through, can be sold dry or stale since they are more focused on saving money rather than the quality that’s sold. Sad n soulless tbh😂

Back in the summer of '78, I actually WAS Jack for a day. I was working at JIB #716 in Garland, TX, and I was tapped to spend a day as Jack, in an orange and white polka-dot jumpsuit and that ridiculous giant clown head. It was about 105 degrees out and INCREDIBLY difficult to breathe with that monstrous head globe on. Good times....
I know Jack and The Shakes had costumes, but did the other Jack In The Box characters [Small Fry, Onion Ring Thing, Secret Sauce Agent, and Hamburgermeister] have costumes too? And why did corporate drop them anyway, was it really because they wanted a more mature image, or did Mcdonald's sue?

If you've been following Jack's latest limited time meals, the Mini Munchies Variety from Jack in the Box is technically the modern day "Frings". Curly fries, three pieces of onion rings and mozzarella sticks.
The Colossus! Man, I haven't seen that commercial since I was a kid, but I knew I remember the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger being called something different back in the day (or I guess it's not exactly the same, since the Colossus had a LOT more bacon).

There's something so cozy about watching these archived commercial spots. Their Onion Rings tasted way better back then too.

Sorry for the late reply. I happen to have all of the source footage still in my PC. All of it was taken from other videos here on TH-cam which I added into a playlist (which is currently not public), although some of these videos have been deleted ever since.

If you've been following Jack's latest limited time meals, the Mini Munchies Variety from Jack in the Box is technically the modern day "Frings". Curly fries, three pieces of onion rings and mozzarella sticks.

The Colossus! Man, I haven't seen that commercial since I was a kid, but I knew I remember the Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger being called something different back in the day (or I guess it's not exactly the same, since the Colossus had a LOT more bacon).
I do remember some of the sandwiches they had some still around and others come and go.
Expect that big cheese burger and some munchie meals changed

That Hot ham and cheese sandwich was my absolute favorite in the 80s! and frings!!!! that was the taste of high school! God I feel old :)~
I’ve actually enjoyed watching these different Jack in the Box commercials in fact Jack in the Box has been a part of my life and I do have enjoyed the delicious😋 fast food from the Jack in the Box restaurants.
