More than anything, this is a prime example of how awful NBA media coverage is. The media coverage of the NFL actually is solid, meanwhile we as NBA fans get stuck with high school level dramatics and flip-flopping.

KD was never as valuable to the Warriors as he was to the Thunder.
Even if someone’s stats or skills increase on a more stacked team, their value in relation to the team will necessarily diminish.

He has a lot inconsistency in the playoffs and has been outplayed by Jimmy Butler in several playoffs series despite having better supporting cast. It's obvious why. They don't want it to go to another international player. Joel Embiid did what they wanted and sood out to play with USA so they were happy to gove him another. The next 4 candidates were all international. Jokic, Giannis, Luka and Shai. So they need it to go to an American, so now it's time to cook the books because if an American don't get one of the next 3.mvps, with Wemby looking the way he's looking, they might not get one for a decade plus.

MVP means nothing now but a popularity contest.. Its not about actual talent or contribution.. Its who Adam wants people to like in the leauge (lbh Silver made being "International" his goal for the NBA.. 7 years straight basically ALL MVPs been International players no matter what.. Its not just chance).. Meanwhile the year before the shift happened nobody was saying "Give Russ his second MVP for averaging ANOTHER triple double for a season on a trash team"..

Smith has never voted for jokic even when it was DISGUSTINGLY obvious that the mvp was his and this year, it's NOT about tatum at all, he is just desperately trying to put his vote on any black dude that's not jokic (i'm not even saying it SHOULD be jokic this year, i'm just saying that this is what he is avoiding doing)...
anyone who would vote tatum over luka (for example) is absolutely nuts... and the idea that the mvp should just go to a player on the best team (best record, which by the way never ever EVER is automatically the best team) is absolutely indefensible.... it means players on 29 teams are automatically eliminated no matter what they did... so let's say every start on dallas gets hurt except luka... he averages a 45pt triple double for the season and they have a 43 win team, that would be so far and above outperforming any individual player and dragging a corpse of a team to a winning record, but he would be AUTOMATICALLY disqualified from mvp... it makes no sense.... this is not a legitimate basketball argument, best player on best team is not a thing

Given, I don't watch the NBA as much as I once did. Not because I think the league is worse. I don't necessarily like how loose and free the game has gotten because it seems to break the spirit of the game and how it was intended to be played but it is still as exciting as it ever was. It's more for personal reasons. However, off that tangent, when I watch other players, even Luka and Jokic, I see them travel all the time, or what I understand as a travel from days gone by. However, in reading the rules, I still think they're often traveling. I see Luka travel almost every time he gets a hand off before he goes up for a three and it never gets called. It's like he's a QB chopping his feet in the pocket. I don't see that from Tatum. He plays very clean. I'm sure there must be highlights of him traveling but a lot of "bags" from other stars seem to be based on the premise that they get to have more steps. Can't blame the players for that though, if you're not pushing the boundaries of the rules, someone who is, will beat you.

I love your content, but bro, you sleeping joel Embiid He’s clearly the MVP in the league. The most unguardable player his only weakness is health

the "take X player of this team" logic is so dumb, most of the time they talk about Stef, but you could say that about literally every other dude and you get the same result. Oh, if you take the best player of a team, the team would be lower in the standings, no shit genius.

No, Tatum, you giant baby..it's because you lose all the big games against real teams...you're a mental case, a choke artist, you disappear under pressure. From a lifelong Celtics fan.

Who are them why people listen someone who vote depends on what leg he wake up Tatum can't be in this story Giannis deserve more then him Luka too and some people was nowhere half season and other half wake up so it's not correct to someone like Jokic who play from start till end at same high lvl! Jokic last year was even more deserve to be MVP and this year nobody is close to him! But invent "fatigue" that don't matter do we look how players play or I am not in mood for basket I will watch movie,if I don't watch game doesn't mean that player was have bad game!

They built the "no post-season success" argument to discredit Joker, because they believed he'll never win anything, and now they have to backtrack lol

Never forget why Perkins didn't think Jokic was MVP las year. Mark Jackson didn't even put Jokic in his top 5

If the mvp is a who is the most efficient and has the best stats award then imo its unfortunate. We let nash win 2 mvps and D rose got one when guys had better stats. All this flip flopping as to what narratives should be used. Lebron prob should have more mvps if thats the case. Most valuable should not only be about stats and efficiency. Your gonna turn the award into a big man award then cuz jokic embiid Giannis arent shooters like that and live in the paint 😂 they gon always be efficient.

I don’t agree with this take. Tatum is a top 5 player in this league, the numbers don’t pop out as much cause his team is stacked. Having the best record is still important. I get what you mean, I don’t like how the media dictates the MVP race, but Tatum is a bad example to argue it.

Tatum is really hoopin this year lol. Like he has gotten better. Best player on the best team. He has a case. I always thought this. He is definitely good enough

Mvp voting is always inconsistent and its always been narrative base. If mvp is about efficiency and stats then it will become a big man award only. Jokic giannis and embiid will always be more efficient jus due to position. For Tatum to win he gon need that steve nash D Rose type narrative

It's our fault we give them so much power why people can't vote? Why them? They are smarter then us? And we all see have much hidden racism in this sport! And beside that we have strong support for American player's even if they are worse if they are even we know who will get it!

The MVP race has always been a sham. Lebron got two MVPs while Kobe won back to back championships. Steve Nash has more than shaq. Lol

Why you bringing up race? I’m not offended or anything but that seemed extremely unnecessary. If there is a reason I’m just not privy to that’s mb but it feels pretty meaningless to the video and like it’s there simply to virtue signal
