Soooo I just got the Benchmade 748 clone off of Temu. 30 bucks, quality looks pretty solid. I took it apart, the two things I noticed was the bearing races were black instead of grey, and the torx nut that holds the blade on was on the opposite side of the handle. Besides that, it seems to be a pretty good fake!
Not worth it on that one but you can get mini springs from hard ware store and cut to small length to replace I had to do it on mine when I lost one of the springs on my first disassemble and still works fine. I wish you had gotten one like mine.
This one has weird leaf springs that made the operation work - and unfortunately they where lost then they sprung across the room - thanks for watching
Now that's what I like to hear someone in the room with a little bit of ingenuity. Trust me that Guy would rather go by 5 new knives than have to Cut down and replace a spring, But if he does telling to replace both of them so they're equal. It probably shut off right on the floor where he threw everything else off the table
I have that exact clone and mine has been a peach no issues for 5 years only have to clean it biannually infor pocket lint in it's my edc so I guess it's a gamble on what you get but FYI mine is way better and not Benchmade good but kind of close I'd say 8/10. Basically blade is a touch loose but nothing like yours and it's not nearly as sharp even after sharpening very good. NOTE the guts on mine are different if you can find an older one they are good that is definitely shit, which sucks cuz I was wanting to get a backup.
You can find good ones I got one that is great like you and that one is the exact same internal as benchmade designed I have taken apart original and clone and there great he just took it apart like a 5yr old with out any attention to anything.
Bought mine a year ago or so, and paint been chipping off. Made me question if it's fake.. found your video. The one I bought was like 110 bucks, and blade stays in place, there is no play. Held the edge pretty good too, but I still suspect it's fake as I learned that these knifes are like 400 dollars :(
@@ArizonaLifestyles1 I agree there is no need for fake knifes when there are plenty good cheaper original knifes out there. But I also wouldn't pay 300 for real one,I'd rather have 4 mid grade knifes instead lol. Thanks for the video, keep it up 👍
You suspect it's fake. It cost 110 dollars that's what tells you it's fake you will never find a benchmade marked down 300 dollars. Companies like that barley do sales because they believe it makes there company come off cheep or over priced because they mark it down. But other than that no company can afford to knock 300 off any product that cost 400.
@@erikreagan2339 back then I didn't know what the price was for that knife. Barley heard the brand name back then. Now it's obvious, no shit. But hey I wanted an OTF knife and I just went ahead and bought one. Didn't geek out about it. But here we are I now have a small collection (with personal favorite a civivi) and this knock off still here and still serves well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’ll have to look , maybe the link is in the description - I don’t know if I just got a bad one … I like the design just this one was a bad reproduction
