    What you said about the visual cue for the angler can be huge. Especially for learning how to work a bait, and especially as your lure approaches the boat for the Figure 8. Seeing the lure farther out from the boat can help the angler.

    I agree that wild colors trigger bites. I do need to expand my crazy color arsenal because these fish do get tired of seeing the same old natural color presentations.

    What one or two colors do you recommend for the jointed shallow raider? Norther Wisconsin lakes

    Joe, I just had this happen last week(over here in the western states)… I saw over 20 fish in less than 10 hours of fishing. Overcast with bright color bait. They didn’t look at anything else. In fact I noticed the aggressiveness absolutely increase with same lure if I first had a follow and then went back a few hours later or next day. They were hitting it hard!
    Thanks for the video, agree with everything you said.
    What color would you use mid day, clear sky’s on a lake that is very clear (can see up to 15-20 feet down sometimes)? This is when I noticed my bite slowed down with that lure… as the clouds went away and then temp increased.

      Excellent observations! Thanks for sharing them. As for the mid day, clear skies, clear lake question: I generally shift to smaller baits, natural colors and long casts. Trolling too.

      @@JoeBucherVideo Thank you, big fan. Love your lures - they are over here in Western Washington!

    Hot pink in June... 🤣 Seriously though, great topic! I'm one that struggles with confidence using outlandish colors. Seen it work though. Sometimes I think fish are simply curious, as you noted, something new/different. When we're curious what's the first thing we do? Walk over and pick up the whatever it is. Fish can move to an item but they have no hands. If they want to examine/sample it more closely they gotta put it in their mouth. Thanks Joe!

    Which one of your lures do you recommend for early summer mornings? Having a harder time seeing and getting action. Thanks!

      Give me more specifics on the water you fish. My first go-to for seeing musky action is the 500 Buchertail Tinsel. Also, a TopRaider. Particularly on the morning.

      Can’t go wrong with small lures on all of the waters you mentioned. Buchertail 500 Tinsel in Goldilocks. Any color in a TopRaider. Slopmaster Spinnerbait up inside weeds too.

    what color lure would you recommend in stained water for topwater?

    • @JoeBucherVideo
      @JoeBucherVideo  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You’d be surprised. Just about any color on top will catch em. But, when in doubt, pitch black.

    If you're here watching this, I bet it's because you're also passionate about Muskie - and I encourage you to look into what we understand about their vision. I won't give everything away, contrast is more important than detail - good luck to everybody this coming year!

    Hot, obnoxious colors in ultra clear waters is sometimes the deal! For both Muskie and Smallies!
