Thanks for all the amazing content guys we really appreciate it. Always remember one of my first games was the youth cup game against Villa in 2002 and after the game all anyone could talk about was this amazing young kid called Wayne Rooney. Great times and it was amazing being a kid and having one of our own in the team. This was brilliant 😁👍 I've watched more of this interview than I have the world cup 😂 UTFT 👍

"Remember the name - Wayne Rooney!" I saw the Everton v Arsenal game "live" here in Finland (via then operating pay-TV channel Canal +) and Rooney's brilliant winning thunderbolt is one of the best ever Everton goals! Surely, especially you local Evertonians, must still be so proud of Rooney, as he was already a great all-round forward with Everton and, not only a full England international, but his country's star player, before moving to Manchester United. Great interview, Baz and Toffee TV!🤗
Wayne Rooney is the most under appreciated player england has produced, he was truly world class and is an Everton, man United and England legend fantastic player loved watching this lad play
Baz I'm not an Everton fan..I'm Man United but love your content...Your interviews are excellent..Ud hold your own covering broader football topics..Keep up the good work 👍
The closest player I ever saw to the Brazilian Ronaldo. I've been blessed to see them both in the flesh. Rooney was never the same player when he left us despite being the greatest talent England ever had. Although he had his greatest attributes trained out of him, he didn't do too badly. Thanks for the memories. Legend.
Fantastic interview Baz. He got a lot of stick of the fans in the way he left without knowing the true explanation. I grew up watching Rooney was a proud Evertonian when he went on to better things. What an amazing career and was chuffed to bits when he re-signed gave us a few more moments to remember.
Not an Everton fan, but Baz is always a standout on The Overlap fan debates. This is an excellent interview. As he matures, Rooney is increasingly interesting as an interviewee and Baz is the perfect interlocutor. Top quality stuff. Good work mate, cheers.
Irish Liverpool fan here (with a Toffee best mate lol), and I strangely find myself watching and enjoying this channel a lot. One of the best 'fan channels' around tbh. Great interviews too.
Great advert for the channel, great of the legend to give so much time for it, and great of Wayne to give so much time too. Honest, real, humble. Max respect to all.
Outstanding interview. Just from watching this I’ve a lot more respect for WR and had no idea how he left the club like that. Really insightful and I think the best interview WR has ever done.
Great interview. Rooney is cagey with media so the fact the presenter is a friendly face and basically an encyclopedia made this best Rooney interview I've seen. Well done, I really enjoyed this.
Enjoyed that. Good to hear something involving Rooney not taken back to his Man Utd days. As a Manc Evertonian it crushed me him going there as I took a lot of stick at school and seeing him succeed on his debut was another blow, knowing how good a player we'd lost and how much it had boosted them. I've never been as excited about watching an Everton player as him and never will again. Only player who compares is when I watch Messi but obviously in a different way as I don't support the teams he's played for A performance Vs Bolton, think 0-0 in his breakthrough season was the best individual performance I can remember since I've been going.
@BIG JOCK KNEW Family are all scousers. My Dad (Evertonian) moved to Manc for work in the 80s. My mum's a Kopite but for all the misery they've caused I'm still glad and proud I chose us over them. There are quite a lot of Manc Evertonians. And I'd say 90% of us have links back to Merseyside. Whereas the Manc Kopites it's less than 10%.
Brilliant interview, nice job Baz, Wayne's got a lot more about him that a lot of people think. Gutted when he left the first time and miffed when he left the second time.

Weirdly emotional watching that. I grew up watching Rooney, feeling incredibly proud to hear England in Unison shouting 'Rooney, Rooney, Rooooneyyyy' and knowing he was all Everton at the time. Wasn't surprised he went and scored a hat-trick on his debut in the Champions League. Wayne Rooney will always be the greatest player we never really had.

Quality interview this! As a Spurs fan I remember him playing that youth cup game, he was unreal and then watched the Villa game with the Moore brothers and he was a different level.
Quality interview, you can see clearly how he puts Rooney at ease. Not an Everton fan at all but I hope they stay up this season. By far one of the best atmospheres is at Goodison.
Great Interview! First Frank Lampard, now Wayne Rooney? It's visibly noticable that the people you're interviewing are quite comfortable. Good job Baz! (Only thing I could suggest, if it's at all possible, is to alter the decibels playback volume for the more soft-spoken person, so it better matches the other person).
It shows what goes on behind the scenes that we don't hear about and reputations get turned around wrongly. But kissing the United badge was a step too far, what were you thinking Wayne? Do it against Liverpool by all means, but... What made it worse for me is I lived about 2 miles from Carrington and lots of my neighbours were big reds I got some real stick over the years. I can't wait to see Part 2.
Great work Baz! I thought I knew it all but wow the rumour Everton had to sell was true! That we were actually pursuing behind the scenes and he said he would have stayed for a few more years. We should have learnt with the similarity of circumstances why Big Dunc left for Newcastle. Why aren't the clubs being truthful about this. They muzzle the player's I guess. I laughed when he said after playing in the first team, Rooney realised there were players there who were for want of a better word, crap. I wonder if he has a list and would say who he felt they were and if they would compare to the supporters list! Looking forward to the next interview. Thanks mate.

Thanks Robert, yes we could do with him up top right now !
As a non Everton fan, really insight on his early years there. I can imagine he rubbed the noses of some players who were there that may have been intimidated by him.
Leeds away bit made me laugh. I was on the pitch after the goal, just pure joy. No idea I was surrounded by Wayne's mates 😀
Ha was brilliant when he told that story 🤣
