"you can never make money on news that the general public does not know about".... yet politicians who engage in policy governing companies and sectors are outperforming industry specialists by wide margins... "Policy trading" is the new insider trading.

I totally enjoyed your analysis and opinion. This is why I follow you. I learn. As a student of financial history that also linked the series' characters and plots to historical events and characters, I must say that your breakdown shows the importance of understanding the capital markets, the law, and psychology. And I know there is much more. Please continue.

GREAT ANALYSIS & INSIGHT into Hedge funds business. People put some politicians and government officials on their side and think law and administration is on their side, but not for long. Most easy money is easy come easy go. The faster one builds fortune by unethical means, the faster it all dries up. And in the process of all this, the economy and small investors take the hit.

I'm not in any way able to comment on the accuracy of "billions" in terms of how hedge funds and wall street in general operate. But one thing I am very sure of is that billionaires don't go around drinking piss water Heineken's all the time! This video would suggest, if you do Insider trading, you need to offset with a month or two of lesser gains. Like card counting, you can't win all the rounds, you need to offset your wins with a loss or two. I know you don't advocate "Insider trading". I'm just thinking out loud. Great video.

As a big fan of this show, but with no background in this line of work, I must admit that sometimes things go a little fast for me.
Thank you for taking the time to walk us through this.
When you said "some bastard bought a ton of put options a few days before 9/11", doesn't that mean that person had foreknowledge of the coming event? Do you know if he was arrested and/or investigated by the FBI?
Larry Silverstein, during his lawsuit, said that each tower had been hit by a separate plane so they were destroyed as a result of two attacks. Which means a double payout. That's when you know you're dealing with a real slime bag. "One man's demise is another man's supper."
Only Larry wanted a huge banquet.

You’ve been around the street long enough so that you have stories for days. Traders, investors and degenerates would absolutely enjoy stories, not just criminal but say for example, an analyst was promoted to leadership because of a call or an analyst got a call wrong and instead of getting fired he had to eat a turd or something. You don’t have to give any real names or the names of the hedge funds.
