She is currently checking out one of my dioramas and she fits in well in the Small Plastic World :) She really grew on me once I took her out of her bag! :)
I honestly like a lot of the clone dolls, especially vintage ones. Amy is lovely and her clothing quality is quite impressive. I’m glad that you rescued her. 😊✨
There is a certain charm that some of the clone dolls definitely have - the vintage ones are often closer in quality to "real" Barbies but even these more recent cheap clones can be really cute. It is impressive that her outfit is so nicely made considering how cheap everything else seems! I felt so sorry for her, I am glad she's here too :)
I do too! I feel bad that they don't get the same kind of good feelings like "real" Barbies and other dolls get. I am really impressed with her outfit, it's sooooo much nicer than I expected it to be! I'm glad she's here :)
I'm sure Amy is very happy to finally be free of her bag and it's nice that you decided to give her a home in your collection. She is kind of cute and the clothing quality seems pretty good considering.
The clothing really surprised me, usually clones have thin, cheap clothes that seem hastily made and her 2 clothing pieces are nice, I would definitely put them on a Barbie. She is cute, she really grew on me once I took her out of her bag! :)
She might not be the highest quality doll, but there's a certain earnest charm to her, and her outfit looks better made than most modern Barbie dolls' clothes!
The clothing was such a surprise, I didn't expect it to be such nice quality! Definitely better than many recent Barbie outfits, unfortunately! :) She really is a cute doll, for being so cheaply made :)
The outfit looks nice. I feel kinda sad for the poor quality dolls. The manufacturer didn't care enough about the doll or the purchaser to make a quality product. 😢
I feel bad for them too! It's like they don't get a fair shake because they are so cheaply made. I'm glad I rescued Amy and that she's part of my doll collection now! :)
You're welcome for the ear worm!!! LOL I'm trying to talk myself out of checking out that Estate place in Wallingford this weekend, I suspect they won't have dolls but I want to see for sure...
OMG I edited it out of the video I made there but I mentioned how hot it was in that room - I was literally sweating LOL One of these days you must dig through the whole box and report back! LOL
Went to Heck’s yesterday. That place is a joke! All the same ol dolls thrown in that box! It was hotter than hell in there again. I thought my Scene was hard to find in thrift shops. They are pretty dolls I like them better than bratz. Not the time period I collect unfortunately. I love the dolls with the bent arms like the crystal Barbie. I did scoop up a jewel mermaid Barbie when I was at Savers. Had its mermaid outfit except the tail so her feet were showing. She had her earrings and ring too. Took me forever to detangle her hair tonight!
I think MyScene is definitely hard to find, I very rarely see them around - I also liked them better than Bratz, I just never got into Bratz, even though they had some cool fashion pieces from time and time and etc. It's so cool that you found jewel hair mermaid barbie!! I imagine that was quite the detangle since she has such long hair!!
I actually had a few MyScene dolls back in the day and I downsized them - they are SUPER collectible these days I think, with the Y2K nostalgia hitting the young adult collectors!! I went to that Estate place in Wallingford, it's small, it's nice, the owner seems cool, but he literally said he thinks dolls are creepy so he doesn't carry them LOL LOL LOL So no need to stop by there! We will have to stick to Heck's!!! LOL
The more I think about it I have too! Her outfit is much nicer than I expected, normally clones have clothes with unfinished edges and super thin material. Actually Barbie clothes sometimes have unfinished edges these days now that I think of it! :)
Awwww, She is super sweet Anja! So nice you freed her from her packaging! 🥰💖

Amy is a very pretty clone doll 🤗 I love collecting vintage clone dolls 💖
I am really enjoying them too, they definitely have a certain charm to them! :)

She’s cute! Now you got me humming that song for the 70s called “Amy” 😂

I’m trying at this very moment to talk myself out of going to good ol Hecks!!!
It’s always screaming hot in there!!!

I like her outfit I don’t think she’s the saddest I’ve ever seen as I have one that maybe a little sadder 😂😂

I just realized I misread your comment - I would love to see your clone!! :)
