A really long and frustrating build .. that looks great at the end despite the non working electrics .. you did ever so well to unravel those jumbled & illogical instructions! Well done on persevering to the end!
Wayne, I just finished it and I can say, with absolute honesty, this build has put me off partwork models altogether. I have never been so frustrated in my entire life with something. The only saving grace is that building it all at once, I was able to put the sumps in when the intercoolers went in. I will say that the instructions are wrong in regards to the position of the Y brace that connects up to the central exhaust. It should be fed UNDER the hoses going to the turbos. If you put it over the hoses, the hoses push up on the brace and pull the middle exhaust in, like it did on your model. If you feed the brace underneath the hoses, the center exhause sits in line with the other two.
Great ending to an amazing build.I subscribed to this after watching the first half dozen episodes. I've stored the whole unopened collection up in my loft.I don't know when I'm going to get around to building this. It's a shame we never got the Bugatti Veyron that would have been better and more rewarding.
I've been trying to finish this for the last 2 years, thanks to you I've just completed it. My first 1/8 model. I almost binned it but thanks to you I persevered. Been a long road of blood (literally), sweat and tears. Just ordered my favourite racing car, the Porsche 917 from Agora.
I'm just too old to fart about building this wonderful model. If the instructions had been clearer then it would have been a no-brainer - as it is, I'm afraid that my failing grey cells wouldn't be able to cope with the appalling set of unclear so-called instructions, especially the bits where 'by the way you have to remove the previous three stages to install this part' that you went through. Well done, Wayne! You suffered for all of us!
Glad to see you are still able to do the builds in spite of the problems with EM. Hopefully something will be worked out on that so folks can finish those builds.
Like the F1 team. Nice looking and fast car. Incompetent instructions. You have done well in this build. Perhaps wait a few months, you might go back afresh to sort out the electrics.
Side note, your package contents notation that you receive, will actually tell you how many people are still with the build in your region. The pick list is printed in mass, so if you look at the bottom of the page, you'll see "Page _ of _ ", mine says "Page 4 of 272" indicating that 272 packages are due to be delivered, so 272 of these exist in Australia up to issue 92 and I was likely the 4th person to sub in Aus (I saw the ad for it while watching F1 on Kayo, so opted early on).
It seems like 2022 has been a year of electrical problems between the spitfire, leopard, and this one! It looks amazing though! I’m gonna miss watching this one because it was entertainment central watching you go through the pain…especially on the live streams 😆
Great looking car, I think you really need to do a showcase of the old man cave with all the builds you have now, I would have to take the car apart again and get those electrics working, would annoy me far too much knowing it wasn't working 🤣
Great build and a fantastic looking car. Yes you are right, very frustrating build as I've watched it from the start. I'm amazed you didn't give it the "HMS VICTORY " "TAPS"🎺🎺🎺 Send off LOL.
Finished mine some weeks ago. Only engine sound works and I have checked the lights every single step of the way so it must be the circuit board, which, same as the Delorean, is a bust. I am not bothering to take it apart as well, my stepson already claimed it for his room and it looks great with the display case and all, so everybody happy.
Someone at Panini told me they are thinking about doing more partworks - I hope they do! And rather than getting stung by the deluge of comments, they (or rather Centauria) should possibly consult with Hachette about how to REALLY do instructions - because the Terminator instructions were incredible - in 120 issues I could count on 1 hand how many bits were unclear. I've lost count ages ago now on how many parts were unclear with this build!! Yes it was a car crash but I DON'T want Centauria or Panini to just give up due to bad feedback!
Thats the Spitfire, the Victory and now the F40 that have been mare's to one degree or another! For what they cost there's some serious thinking gonna go on for my next one. Just starting the electric's on the Routemaster so fingers crossed...lol
Yep. It’s not all gold unfortunately. I think the electrics let a lot of these builds down and that’s mainly due to cheap electrics, boards and soldering. I had a multi meter on it but the board is dead
Assuming that Panini doesn't become a 1 model wonder, I hope their next model is better thought out with how it goes together. I might hold off building anymore of this model until I get all the parts and go through your videos to see if there is a better way to put it together.
@@WorldofWayneUK possibly nicked a cable? I tried mine as soon as I connected engine compartment to cars chassis, all SEEMS to work ATM, I have not however connected the lights, other than dashboard which does light up
All those models should come with external USB-C connection for power supply and lights control. This way you would not have to bother with turning them on, Alexa or other home assistants would be controlling them for you turning them into room/studio lighting. That would also give us a reason to actually make the electronic working. You are occasionally seeing people responsible for this models, next time just give them a hint that... you know - it is 2022 and everything is mobile controlled ;)
Everything works on mine now but I have to hold I. The button on the right hand side of the steering wheel while pressing the other buttons. Impossible feat getting 2 fingers in there
The rear lights and dashboard lights work on mine but nothing else...this woukd deff put me off anything like this again..there are literally no buttons where there are suppose to be for the engine sound and gear shift.
Watching your videos I noticed that you did not connect the black plug from the battery box ( fuel tank) to the circuit board. Also the wires from the rear lights should be taped to the inside of the engine hood, and I had foreseen the problem with the air filters and had installed mine when doing the airfilters themselves, together with those small pieces behind the seats. I'm now doing the ferrari 312 T4 and the Ford GT40.
Yep I connected the black plug later on. Also , as the electrics didn’t work I completely bypassed the battery box and put external power into the bay terminal on the board and still nothing
G'day wayne. I think you left the battery box line (black plug) disconnected back at part 92. And do you have fresh batteries? (remember the DeLorean? ;) )
it looks good but that game between the front hood and the side just before the doors looks too wide, I don't know if it's the modal or the way the car is, I just think it's too wide.
Soooooooo I just opened issue 97 to find my right side central duct parts are 2 completely different lengths, left side fits together perfectly, but right side lugs don't even line up
Hey Wayne. Just wondering if nobody has mentioned it before, but the actual F40 doesn’t have a steel body. Its all carbon composite., which is basically plastic! Dont get me wrong, I’m building it too, just wondering if anyone else has picked up on that.
Yeah, but if they went down that path, they would have had to have somehow re-created seeing the CF through the paintwork and textured slightly, seeings how the F40's paint was so thin for weight reduction
Hello Wayne, awesome model. Unfortunately It's not available over here in the Netherlands. So my question might be a bit rude. Are you willing to sell this model ? Hope to hear soon of you.
@@WorldofWayneUK ohh no, not the answer that I was hoping for. To bad. Do you perhaps know somebody who has one and is willing to sell it for a reasonable price? And even better how to get the complete kit to build it myself. Anyway, appreciate it and keep up the great channel.
Hey there Wayne. I wanted to let you know that I managed to score one model unbuilt from the UK. I received it on Tuesday and I just finished the model.
