How wonderful that you were able to retrieve some items from your husband's great grandparents home! My great grandfather built a house as well, starting it in the 1890s, but passed away before it was finished. My great grandmother raised her children, farmed, canned and took care of the animals on her own, was self sufficient, never remarried, drove a Ford Model T and lived on that farm until she was well into her 90s. I'll never forget that farm, the fun we had there as children, the two seater outhouse, the kitchen pump which was the only water source in the house, the root cellar and my great grandma who taught me so much. I was a city kid, but I just assumed every family had a farm. What a disappointment when I found out they didn't.
Hello Magda, how are you doing today?
The transfers really enhanced the beauty of your family heirloom….💚
What a treasure trove! I love where that house is- it looks like it was the perfect size♥️
Beautifully done! Love the decorative items you staged it with too!❤
Seeing that cabinet brought back memories of my childhood and watching my granny sift her flour and make pies on the metal pull out shelf. I don't know what happened to the cabinet but I would love to have it now. Thanks for sharing that and letting me have a good memory of many years ago.
Think how happy his gr grandmother was when she got it!
What a special piece! It’s wonderful to be able to save these items and continue to treasure them!

Susie and Hubby, what a treasure! To have a Hoosier cabinet would be wonderful, but to have one from the family--priceless! I am Southern and very much traditional, so I am happy for you. Also, I love what you did with it. I am hearing a lot of good about Fusion paint, so glad to know a supplier will soon be at hand. Congratulations! Thanks for sharing this video and I am looking forward to all the fantastic things we’re going to see come out of that sweet little house in the woods!

Hello Martine m, how are you doing?
Don’t forget to get the bed springs!!
Right!
I luv it. My great grandma hsd a hoosier also but it went to someone else. I gave always wanted one. Someday!
I loved your video, interestingly, I have the exact same scenario my children inherited property that was their great grandparents and in one of the homes on the property was a Hoosier exactly like this one.
It was gifted to me, thankfully mine is in a little better shape. It only needs to be sanded at some point.
I only needed to clean it up a bit and bring it in to the house to use it for now.
Beautiful job Suzy!
Hey don't worry about showing the early photos squirrels have got to poop to lol anyway congrats on new locale and my great grandma had one just like that
I have one done in green and white and also used the very same transfers on it! lol Great minds and all, Susie. Love your videos.
Labor of ❤
How lucky are you? It’s like Xmas morning!!! I absolutely love the two tone on the Hoosier!! I have one and will definitely try that🌻🌻
The hoosier cabinet is absolutely adorable! I love the transfers you added. Would love to see a full pic with those on the piece. On another note, in the video I caught a bit of an old bed mattress with rusty springs. I hope you're going to salvage those springs as well!
Hello Kim, how are you doing?
Wow, you are such a hard worker! Love your little kittys curiosity. 😂 I like when you tell us what paint you used. I would have never thought you could use outside paint as a primer.
Hello Karen, how are you doing today?
The things we do for our addiction 😂😂😂
OMG! That’s what my mother and I used to love to do until “property owners “ stopped us! What a gem!
Hello Charlotte, how are you doing today?
I love it! It's beautiful. I've been dying to see this video since the teaser yesterday because I have a Hoosier cabinet too, and I've been so torn about repainting it. I think it's perfect with all its old vintage charm, but it deserves to be stunning again! Thanks for the inspiration, it turned out great!!! I love Aviary (and all colors of green), too!
Hello Lara, how are you doing?
@Fred Walker I'm great, thanks for asking.
@@ShadyV Good
@@ShadyV Where are you from
I wish you could save it
Oh Miss Susie, I love that you saved that wonderful old cabinet. Hoosiers can be so hard to find anymore. I think adding the flower transfers really made that piece look complete. And that sink.....LOVE IT!! Y'all, don't get me started on those amazing old sinks!!
***Do you know if it's possible to still get the Christmas Valley Transfer pack from IOD (the eighteen 12" x 16" sheet pack)???
I know I'm very late to the party by not buying it sooner, but I just found out about it when I saw another crafter use them in a Christmas video that I just came across a few weeks ago. Thank you in advance.
Thank you Nicole. Unfortunately Christmas Valley transfer was a limited to release so once all the stockist sold out we can't get anymore. :( I sold all mine within a week.
@@susieonthefarm I don't doubt it. That pack was beautiful! Thank you for the information. Hopefully they'll come out with another Christmas set this year similar to last year's since it was so very popular. Fingers crossed!!
Wear rubber gloves so you do not get sick...yikes
Hello Lynn, how are you doing today?
