Since I’ve only played Diamond, Y and Moon. I’d say the hardest was Kukui imo with Cynthia being in close second (maybe cuz I had a bulbapedia page open cuz I didn’t know the weaknesses for some of Cynthia’s pokemon- I’m such a noob 😂)

I think they might mean like the 3 hues that make all the colours the human eye can see. Like the 3 colour cones in our eyes each receive either red, blue or green light which enable us to see the colour spectrum we do. Red, green and blue are also the 3 colours used on a computer display!
