I usually do my automation using the gain plugin, rather than the fader. Allows flexibility for me, but this also works. I feel like it's essentially the same thing, but different way of allowing flexibility
This was helpful. Thank you. I've always set up tradition sum buses, but I'm trying to learn more ways to use Summing Track Stacks. Now my question is, to organize things better, can I place a summing stack inside of a Folder Stack? Summing Stack is my buss with inserts and sends. Folder Stack is my VCA to control the volume going into processing.
Hi Jono, Thank for these really clear explanation! For the first part of the demonstration (before automating the VCA), isn't it possible to solve this by doing relative automation instead of "regulars" ? Thank ! Greg
Hi Luke, there are a couple of reasons. The first is that using VCA Fader preserves the wet/dry relationship between your channel audio and its sends. The other is that it's easier to keep track of the routing in your session, rather than having to keep tabs on which channel strip output is feeding which aux channel. I've ended up chasing my tail several times by doing that! -Will

It’s because he’s an actual lecturer I think.
@@Superdelphinus he is, but so many "lecturers" are bad nowadays that I liked to express my appreciation 🙂
Thanks for the clear demonstration, may I know how I could revert the VCA track back to a VCA Fader? I couldn't find an option for that.

Excellent tutorials. This VCA is similar with Group volume.
How is a VCA different than a specific DRUM BUSS? You can change the volume, automate like a VCA and maybe add an overall glue compressor?
Thank you for your work. I usualy compose "simple" things (not a lot of tracks) and I wondered what use I could have of these VCA faders. Now I know.
Is there any possible way to remove the VCA fader already assigned to the tracks created in the project?
Great video, but how do I delete a VCA track if I decide I don't want or need it anymore?
Thanks Jono! What a cool feature, defo gonna add this one to my list of things to try and get under my belt, as always a great piece of tuition!
Thanks Gary! This one is really useful if you've gone super detailed with track automation and then get mix notes.

So very useful, thanks!

Thanks for your support Darin! Pleased you found it useful.
Great! every day i am a step closer to Hollywood
Thanks Jono!
Thank you, Reinhold!
Is there any disadvantage to doing all this with a regular aux strip? That's the solution I came to naturally.

@@MusicTechOfficial Thank you for the explanation!
@@legatrix You're most welcome!
I guess, for 'group' of sounds this is perfect - not being bound to a stack
