Not a dancer, but I love the way you light up just talking about getting back into dancing again! As usual your room makeover is stunning 👏👏 Enjoy it, girl. Your younger self is so so happy for you!
I danced jazz, ballet, belly dance and hip-hop throughout my childhood and teen years, but I was never too serious about it. In fact, I think I stopped because as I had a few friends who were professional dancers and I saw how much work they put into it, while I felt like I just couldn't dedicate myself that much to dancing. Still, I miss it a lot. I also haven't been moving enough lately, so this video has been extremely relatable. Anyways, I am so happy for you, the room looks great and I hope you find what you have been missing.
It can be so hard sometimes to find our own way in a sport or art or hobby, especially if we want to do it more casually/just for fun! I’ve quit so many things over the years because I didn’t feel like I could dedicate myself enough to it to be as good as I felt I had to be to prove to myself it was worth doing, I guess? But as I get older, I’ve started picking up more and more of those hobbies and realizing that it’s OK to just be mediocre at things if I enjoy them. I don’t even have to try to get better at them if I don’t want to, but it’s also likely that just practising over time will lead to that improvement, even if it’s slight. But as long as I’m enjoying myself, who cares, right? Anyway, I hope you’ll find a way to move your body that brings you joy, whatever it might be! ❤️
Honestly, when my husband and I get a house I will definitely use milinote for all the reno. I love being able to have logistic and inspiration stuff together. I like that I could share it with him or have it readily available when we shop
It was so helpful! Especially having all the measurements to reference and to be able to comment back and forth on things as needed. I started only using it for the room design/inspiration, but it does so much more ☺️❤️
I hope the kitties were adequately compensated for their project management in this video!!! ☺️☺️ I’m loving this video; it’s inspiring me to make over our office space into a lovely flute studio where i will enjoy spending more time. Thanks for posting!!
🙋♀grew up a dancer, I totally get it! How awesome! I have a spare bedroom with a treadmill in it and a whole bunch of "we dump everything here" vibes - might take a page out of this book and get it in shape so I can get in shape! Thanks for the inspo 💖
Oo I love this! Go for it ☺️ it’s been so much fun to just pop in for a quick pirouette every time I walk down the hallway, and I’ve been doing longer dance sessions almost every day! It’s bringing me so much joy, honestly 😅❤️
As an ex-dancer, I totally appreciate all you have done to make your room a magical place for you, Yoda and Chewie! Just beautiful!! Happy dancing and moving💃🏽🎉🌟🤩
As someone who is aspiring to go into musical theater, I loved this video! It is so lovely to see you get back into something you love, and that room really goes with your calm aesthetic! I was also in awe of your LaDuca shoe display😃 I now really want to hear more stories of your dance journey as well as your professional career!
Thank you so much! Haha yes I love my LaDucas ❤️ I was showing my parents the room and my Dad commented on how much money that closet is holding in shoes alone 😂 he’s not wrong! Lol I have occasionally shared stories over the years and if you scroll way back on my Instagram I’ve shared performance photos ❤️ I’m happy to elaborate on anything you’d like to know about, though!
I adored every second of this! I’m a theatre student in New York, but I messed up my ankle pretty badly in ballet class and haven’t been able to dance or even walk since then. Currently watching this on bed rest while recovering from surgery! I am so excited to get moving again when this is all over. That joy on your face is just when you talk about dancing?? Boy, do I feel that. Here’s to getting back to movement and showing our bodies the love they deserve! Living vicariously through you right now 🤭 And the room looks gorgeous!
Oh I’m so sorry! Injuries are the worst but hopefully you’ll heal quickly and be able to come back stronger with some rehab ❤️ and thank you so much! It’s lovely to see how much this video is resonating with other dancers 🥹
this was wonderful. it's so inspiring to see your love for dance even though you haven't done it regularly. i feel the same way about my flute and this video makes me want to take it out again and start playing even though i'm sure i am definitely not as good as i was before! loved the cats 'helping' throughout the video
I also danced ballet and modern dance competitively until I was 18/19. Unfortunately I quit after school since I wanted to pursue another career path but sometimes I miss just having the space to properly move my body. Watching you install that marley floor in your room unlocked so many memories and the urge to slide my toes over these floors. So i absolutely DO get it and I am so happy for you that you were able to fulfil that dream of yours!!
The fact that your "worst shape of my life" body is literally my dream goal body lmao. ded. Great job on the room! I have been using Milanote for my patio makeover project and love it. I really have to start using more of the features you showed!
I guess I didn’t clarify lol I’m in the worst shape of my life in terms of mobility/strength/balance/endurance/conditioning! I’m not trying to lose weight or anything, just improve my cardio, strength, balance, and flexibility ❤️
@@PlantBasedBrideexcellent point. My father and I had a conversation yesterday where he remarked that someone was in "great shape" when what he meant was "thin". That's a big, big difference.
Also grew up dancing and after a long break (acl tear in 2017) I started a weekly ballet class last year 🎉 it's been so fun, my body remembers the shapes and it helps get me in better health again after a fall and long lasting concussion 4 years ago (yes lots of injuries over here 😂) ❤
That’s amazing! I’m so sorry for your injuries, I know how tough tears can be (though I’m thankful I never tore a tendon!) and I had a concussion in my twenties from a bike accident 😅 my body definitely remembers everything, but my mobility and strength are greatly reduced so actually getting into the positions and holding them is a struggle 😂❤️
What a beautiful space! So lovely to see you being able to come back to your sport. Since covid and moving away for university I've been away from sailing and I miss it so much. My dream in my adult home is to have a wet room downstairs where I can hose of and store all my gear and equipment 😁⛵️
I live in a one room flat with no spare room to renovate😅 but how much I did enjoy this video, Elizabeth❤❤❤❤ it turned out so beautiful 🥰🥰 and the kitties made it extra special!🐈⬛🐈⬛
I definitely never had the space for a dedicated room like this until we bought our house! But I probably could have made a corner somewhere into a cozy dance/yoga space if I’d gotten creative 😅 I’m so glad you enjoyed it! ❤️❤️
I love this! I am not a dancer but I will absolutely be taking some inspiration for when we get our own home! Also that gallery wall hack is absolutely brilliant!!
I'm not crying, YOU'RE crying!!! I felt this hard, girl. I was blessed to be able to create my dream room (library & Peloton room in one) combining my two fav things in the world. It's a whole entire feeling. Enjoy your new space, it's gorgeous! ❤
As someone who also spent long years in dance studios and is also in her thirties, this was beautiful and made me cry a bit as well ❤ I hope you keep enjoying moving in your new room
I can't wait for a full house tour one day if you decide to share it, it seems like it's all so cohesive and very much "you" if you know what I mean. 😅
This is so amazing! I just got inspired to maaaybe transform my unused office as well. And just to give you a little boost: You might feel like your body isn't in the best shape (at least at first), but it will feel so magical to get back into it. I started dancing again after a break during covid (I'm 30 now!), and it's the best decision I've made in a long time - physically and mentally. And I'm sure you will surprise yourself. You go girl!
Oh do it! I’m having so much fun spending time in there, even if I just pop in for a quick pirouette or sun salutation ❤️but I’ve also been doing some beginner/intermediate ballet classes working on activating all those little muscles again, even though it’s frustrating sometimes to realize I can’t do what used to be so easy 😅 thank you for the encouragement! It’s already bringing me a lot of joy and I’m hoping I can keep motivated through the difficult beginning ☺️
Aww, my hands just automatically goes to my heart, this is so wholesome and inspiring to watch you have your childhood dream come true, even though I'm a nondancer. But I would love my own yoga and hobby room as well, I realte so much to that. I am so much gonna manifest this for myself in my own version ofc, tapping into your giddy, emotional feelings 🥰🥰✨✨
Aw haha thank you! ☺️ I’ve been walking on air since we finished the room. I didn’t realize just how happy it would make me! I’m manifesting your own calm and cozy yoga and hobby room for you, too ❤️❤️
Beautiful transformation! I’m not a dancer - or someone who is used to exercising at all, quite the opposite - so I’ve decided to redecorate our guest room to turn it into my crafts room/yoga room and eliminate any potential blockers that prevent me from working out i.e having to move furniture to make room, so this video was super helpful!
Oh I’m so happy to hear that! It makes SUCH a huge difference having a dedicated space set up for its use. Then as soon as you get the urge to do a flow or make something you can just start! ❤️
The transformation of the room is really amazing, congratulations on making the workout room of your dreams! Really enjoyed and got inspired by your process! ❤❤❤❤❤
omg this is my dream!!!!! I'm so happy for you😭❤️🥰 dancing and yoga was my solace and source of movement growing up. As of now I don't have enough space like this nor have the money to join any classes so I'm walking among the farms which is very comforting too! This video made my inner kid so happy. so happy to see how you're making your home such a cosy space with library, office and now this. The combination screams welcome to Elizabeth's home ❤️
Aw thank you 🥹 it does feel really lovely turning out home into the perfect space for us. We’re prioritizing what we love and ignoring the rest, and slowly but surely this is feeling like our sanctuary ❤️ I hope you’ll get that in your future, too!

Haha Yoda was overseeing literally everything 😂 Jason and I were joking that she thinks that’s her bedroom so wanted to make sure we didn’t mess it up lol Oo yeah, we have bathrooms to update in our house, too! We’ve been putting them off because they can get SO expensive 😭
The milanote looked so organized and helpful! Of course I shouldn't have to say this but your makeovers are on point, the room looks gorgeous and your needlepoint horse finally gets to show off, I'm so happy for you.
Yes, it definitely made every step in the process much more efficient having the kitties help out 🤣 I’m just used to it at this point lol they’ll always climb on top of whatever I’m working on 😅
Such a lovely transformation! Happy for you! Dance is good for the soul! Your cats were dancing, too! cute! Morgan Harper Nichols has an affirmation that says " I am making room for things that heal my heart". Also ,Diane in Denmark on some of her Friday videos called weekly planning self-care gives four self-care assignments/ideas that one can choose from for the week and in one of those videos she mentioned being creative and movement. Also Mariane Cresp mentioned in her boost your mood video about music and Kennedy from the channel Cozy K has cozy hobbies to try videos. So this video makes be think of self-care! I like doing Gina B from the channel Up To the Beat fit dance walking videos!
I've been doing gym classes over zoom for years but nothing exciting or motivating. I JUST got back to skating and oh wow it's definitely what I needed.
I’m terrible at skating but it is such a magical sport - I’m in awe of anyone who can do it, honestly! I’m so glad you found your passion for it again ❤️
Even a little corner could work, if you have one to spare! Tap was my first love (I started at 5 and fell in love immediately & had a tap solo every year at competitions) and I’ve missed it SO MUCH! I need to build up my ankle strength and mobility again to get all those sounds as clear as I’d like, but it feels amazing to do the steps that are so ingrained in me at this point ❤️ it’s like coming home, as cheesy as that sounds!
I had a back injury ten years ago with a long process of recovery, which allowed me to regain most of my ability to move normally. Since it became a chronic condition, last year I had an epiphany (laughs) and thought: "What if I work the muscles that surround the spine (my injury is spinal) and make them strong enough to support my body so the spine can get some relief?" you know, I was picturing my muscles as some sort of medical corset. And then I got back to the gym after years and years of not working out at all. And yes, little by little my body is becoming more resistant and I can endure longer walks now. It takes time and work, but you get results, one step at a time
That’s so wonderful to hear! Back injuries are no fun and really impact so much of our regular movement. Mine was muscular but ultimately caused by imbalances due to my scoliosis. I’d had so many injuries before that took at most a few months to recover from that I was shocked when years went by and no matter what I did I was still in extreme pain. I’m hoping as I find my way back to movement I can be more thoughtful about how I use my back so I don’t aggravate it too much ❤️
@@PlantBasedBride I'm so sorry, I kno how painful it is... mine is a hint at scoliosis, and that hurts so much sometimes that i imagine what a norma scoliosis must hurt and... it must be really really awful. I hope you are much better now. Yoga will help you surely
Anytime Yoda spoke, I earned a year onto my life. 🥹❤ I’m cat sitting for my friend’s family right now and I wish I could take the cat home cause I love cats so much. 😭
Haha aw I’m sure you’ll have your own cat companion before long! They really are amazing little creatures, even when they’re yelling that I missed a spot 😂

Beautiful! congratulations! What an inspiration.
Thank you so much! 🥰
Your room is lovely!!!

i do love the room but i love your cats more... so cuteeee
Haha I mean same 😂
To clean mirrors/windows...try using rubbing alcohol (in a spray bottle) and an old face cloth/rag. Then, if needed, use window cleaner.
I'll have to try this! We have a glass cleaner that seems to work pretty well, but I’m not sure I have the technique down just yet 🤔
Great job🎉 so cool you can dance like that:) ❤ Did the kitty start breakdance in the end?😅( *almost)
Thank you! Haha I call Yoda wriggly puff (inspired by Pokémon) because she’s always wriggling around on the floor 😂
@@PlantBasedBride 🤣
Are you concerned that the tape will damage the floors?
We did a test and it was fine so we’re hoping for the best!
Cats being cats.
Always 😂
Anytime Yoda spoke, I earned a year onto my life. 🥹❤
I’m cat sitting for my friend’s family right now and I wish I could take the cat home cause I love cats so much. 😭
Haha aw I’m sure you’ll have your own cat companion before long! They really are amazing little creatures, even when they’re yelling that I missed a spot 😂
