    When you set breakdowns and drops, make sure it's not a false drop. Time it out. It doesn't happen often, but I've set it at the wrong place a few times and mixed of phrase. It's the worst. Take your time setting cues, use the 32 and 64 loop to check, is the breakdown ending on point? So skip ahead 32 or 64 after the drop to check the phrasing. I ran across two bass house tracks last week in one set that had an extra 4 count in the breakdown.

    Man, no shit, I saw your response to Marauda on Twitter and thought to myself it would be dope if you could make a video about DJing and now here you are! Haha Thank you man!
    Could you maybe make a follow up one and show us a set you would play and how you would transition from song to song? Or do you drop it on beat one? Would you use certain effects at certain points (stutters, scratches, filtering)?
    Sorry for these questions but I am honestly clueless about this topic and I would like to know how DJing is done in the tearout dubstep (or general dubstep) world. :)
    I would appreciate it!

      So glad I made the video! Crazy cool, and yes I’m so down to make a follow up video showing how I transition and DJ completely, that will come soon! Thanks for the support

    I nearly never use que points i like hot ques better. And i like to set them when i playing/listening to my music on the Pioneer XDJ-XZ. Think this is more easy over using RB. Thats just my oppinion thanks for sharing.

    • @Dripment
      @Dripment  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah when djing you can use both but the memory cues allow you to use the arrows and easily scrub through your cues then you can just use your main cue button as usual

    dude that's funny you mentioned Marauda doing that because at lost lands a couple years ago that dude transitioned into the most random areas of the tracks. It was really annoying.Did the same thing at EDC the next year.

      lol yes once a dj is big enough you can basically do anything on those decks and people will love you but that truly is ok, because its just art and it doesnt have to be perfect as well haha but dang sometimes we just wanna go back to house/techno culture where we just dont stop dancing haha

  • @bradybrantley8518
    @bradybrantley8518 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Honestly how do you dj without the cue points? How do you automatically know when to bring in your next track?

    • @Dripment
      @Dripment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The dance songs are broken down into sections like intro breakdown build up, drop, middle of drop, you pick one of these sections and start them on time with the other song to transition smooth. You usually don’t want to energy level to die down so you transition accordingly and control the energy of the room

      I wait till the first kick in the drop, hit play fron 2nd track there and start praying, now thanks to this video i can mix it very well and drop by drop 💫

  • @nOne_Dubz

    I normally do my cues by 8-16 bars and just use the arrow keys to scroll. Be cool if you did one on actually mixing it now. So we have the cues set up and then what, so p2 coming soon?

    • @Dripment
      @Dripment  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      After you have your cues set you plug in your usb and then use the memory arrows to witch between cues and then you can choose where to start the next song fast and easy. And I will make a video in future showing how to mix on a controller after setting up the cues

    CM all day, not a stretch to hit M 😂. Although now I'm wondering what you set M to. If you don't set it to anything you killing me. You really need a good reason to change the defaults. I've been through many computers and i can't tell you how many times I've set up tracks on anyone else's computer. Don't change the default unless you have a good reason. But do you. For sure
