Because of people like him, we've got incredible movie scenes that play a mayor role in the history of cinema.
I came to know the work of Dar Robinson by skating away on Buster Keaton incredible stunt scenes. This guys had ice flowing through their veins!
Keaton died in his bed because of lung cancer (he smoked harder than the locomotives he was famous to put his life in risk with) Dar Robinson lost his life because of that accident. They were both huge. We remember Keaton because he was an extraordinary comic actor. But we should all remember people like Robinson too. They are for sure the unknown heroes of movies, always. RESPECT.

I met Dar Robinson when he was about 12 years old, in 1959. I was also a trampolinist in those days, and met Dar and Dan Millman giving an exhibition on trampoline at the Los Angeles County Fair in Pomona, California. There was this particular technique of "bouncing" another person on the trampoline by pushing down the trampoline just before the performer landed. Dan Millman was "bouncing" Dar in a series of Codys (back flips from stomach landing to stomach landing) and Dar was going unbelievably high. Though Dan was actually a better trampolinist and later won the world trampoline championship while he and I were roommates at UC Berkeley in 1964, Dar was always the biggest daredevil. He was always willing to do the wildest tricks, even at that very young age. I was very saddened to hear of his early demise in 1986, though somehow it seemed inevitable. Of course it's ironic that his death resulted from a motorcycle accident, not from one of his amazing and dangerous stunts.

I remember seeing a documentary about him years ago. I also remember him in "Stick!" Man, was he creepy! He inhabited the role of the killer Moke well.
"A lot of stuntmen are never known, but some stuntmen...are never forgotten."
You could not have picked better words for a tribute to Dar. Well done!! :D

Great video, Junkman! I love this kind of stuff. What a shame how successful he was as a stuntman to have to go out like that. May he RIP.

Wish they would give them Oscars or at least more exposure and a hand shake and a star on the Hollywood walk of fame better than any CGI and a hell of alot more entertaining ..big balls !!

I think today with CGI replacing stuntmen and women There will never be anyone anyone who can out do Dar Robinson By when you dice with death one day you will make a bad roll and lose R.I.P.

Burt Reynolds AND Adam West in the same film..., what could be better? Nothing! Unless Burt Ward was there too..., then it would have been perfection!

Sorry to have to say this but when you play with fire you eventually get burned 🔥 For him to die from such a routine stunt that he’s done so many times before is just ridiculous. Not a very smart profession to get involved with in my opinion.
