  • Rescue mission on the Mediterranean: Every year, thousands of people fleeing violence and hunger leave their homelands, only to perish in the Mediterranean. The crew of the rescue ship ‘Humanity 1’ is saving as many as they can.
In 2022 some 160 thousand refugees and migrants crossed the Mediterranean Sea to Europe. A further 2,439 are listed as dead or missing, although the real figure is likely higher. This year too, a similar number are making their way northward in search of a better life. The German rescue ship ‘Humanity 1’ and its international crew ply the Mediterranean to rescue drowning refugees. Again and again they encounter dangerously overloaded boats on the verge of sinking. During rescues, every movement must be precise, so intensive training is vital. DW reporter Anupam Deb Kanunjna was aboard the 'Humanity 1' for two weeks and observed the crew during drills and rescue operations.

I disagree with the assertion that they are saving migrants. They are enabling them and by doing so encourage more to attempt the crossing. This ultimately leads to more death. If anything, they should take them back to their departure point and encourage them to come legally.

The safety and security of the host country is more important than the rights of economic migrants.
They're economic migrants. Economic hardship doesn't qualify for asylum. They aren't fleeing war, and their lives are not in danger.
Your vetting systems are not adequate for mass immigration, and mass immigration is unjustified. Immigration is a civil privilege, not an inalienable right. Preserving ethnic heritage actually sustains diversity, too.

Conveniently no passports or documents with them to enable authorities to find out about their past circumstances ( very dubious ). They are not fleeing war or persecution otherwise where are the their wives and kids? You do not flee war or terrible circumstances and leave your babies behind, Would you leave your babies behind to have more of the same terrible circumstances? Some of them are undoubtedly part of organised criminal networks to come here and participate in god only knows what. Europe is a very lucrative market for international criminal networks who only recruit their own criminal people, and therefore need to ship them in undetected. The rest are economic migrants. Yes they may have left their country behind to look for work for a better life ( which is commendable ) but the Europe already does accept overseas workers to fill our job vacancies, but for these guys to just jump the queue like this is actually a slap in the face for all the bona fida oversea workers that legitimately fill out applications and pay the fees for working visas. They have money to spend on the boat fare to arrive covertly, but don't spend this same money on a visa application or a plane ticket, which would give the authorities evidence of their identity and background. They have something dodgy to hide that would cause them to fail the visa application. Wake up and smell the coffee woman.

These asylum seekers didn't just decided to pick-up one day, leave everything they've ever known behind [food, shelter, culture, etc.], and migrate. I migrated to the U.S., legally, and that was arduous. I flew in a plane. The process took 5 years plus. I can only imagine how tough "illegal migrations" would be.

That doesn't mean that they have a right to illegally migrate into another country. We don't have to condone hypocrisy or victimhood attitudes. They are illegal, economic migrants, and not asylum seekers. Immigration is a civil privilege, not an inalienable right. They are disrespectful of all the immigrants who LEGALLY migrate into Europe. And don't make that logical fallacy and appeal to despair. Just because someone legally migrated does not mean that they had less despair than someone who illegally migrated. No one owes them anything.
If I were to migrate to Europe, then I would do it LEGALLY. They are NOT special, and you are not special. Truth hurts.

      Seriously?
They are illegal, economic migrants. They wouldn't need to be saved if they hadn't made the illegal and dangerous crossing. The solution is to not make the illegal and dangerous crossing by staying home.
Their behavior is disrespectful toward all of the immigrants who legally migrate to Europe. And just because they legally migrate doesn't mean that they are less desperate than the illegal, economic migrants, so don't make that appeal because it's a common logical fallacy.
How about we respect the laws of other countries, or is it better to be delusional hypocrites?
There is a reason why countries have set immigration policies. It's odd how the woke crowd doesn't understand this simple truth.
They aren't asylum seekers. They are illegal, economic migrants who are breaking the law.

Just think if US didn't create 39 million refugees as it laid waste to much of greater middle east since 9/11. Heartbreaking endless militarism and forever wars of choice must end. There's 8 billion precious humans today and every year another 80 million net new humans join us. We face civilization threatening global problems which requires peace and cooperation. Good luck to the volunteers doing this important work

It's not just the Middle-East. US has interfered in numerous countries, not to the benefit of those countries or their peoples, fueling mass-exodus & migration. It's done only for the benefit (or what's thought of as beneficial) of US interests & financial gain. Then US demonizes immigrants, legal & illegal, refuses to acknowledge its culpability or responsibility for conditions in these migrants' home countries becoming untenable & causing the people to flee. If US wouldn't have mucked about in migrants' countries of origin, there would've been no reason for them to become immigrants in the 1st place.
Not saying this is the only reason people are becoming immigrants, just that it's a pretty significant factor in, at the very least, immigrants showing up on ( particularly) the US southern border.
I'm a US citizen, born & raised, but I'm hella ashamed of my country's actions & its sickening hypocrisy with regard to immigration & migrants.

    • @ADUAquascaping
      @ADUAquascaping ปีที่แล้ว +1

They are NOT refugees. They are economic migrants and you have to seek asylum before you can ever gain refugee status. Cruising around in a boat doesn't qualify someone as a refugee. And how and why does SOS Humanity have so much funding? Imagine if that funding was used for domestic birthing incentives and programs, or even to help with governmental restructuring in the immigrant's home country... The Great Replacement isn't a conspiracy theory. It's a frame, a narrative, and an agenda.
