You need to feed him actual frozen shrimp, squid or scallop etc. I have snowflake eel and zebra moray. Nice tank.

I noticed that tank you bought him from says under observation when you went back to ask what they had been feeding the eel.

Stumbled across your video, and I saw a problem that lots of aquarist do wrong. First, when temperature aclimating fish, never open the bag. If there is any waste or ammonia in the bag, opening the bag to fresh air will cause a reaction, and the ammonia and PH will be effected and can get quite high, further stressing out the fish. Also, drip acclimation is considered an old technique, and studies have found it to be bad for the fish. When you open the bag for drip acclimation, as I said before, this affects the ammonia and PH. Then you add some water from your tank to the bag. This does nothing but further stress out the fish. The water from your tank into the floating baged fish only dilutes the ammonia, but it also further throws off the PH, amongst other things. If your tank is not the same salinity as the water in the bag from the pet store, you are further changing the salinity in the bag, further stressing out the fish. Now the fish is sitting in water with a wacky PH, high ammonia, a different salinity from the petstore, and your tank. Hardy fish will usually survive through this, but the sensitive fish can be irreversibly affected and not survive the stress of it all. The best way to put new fish in the tank is to float the bag closed for about 20 minutes so the fish does not go into temperature shock. Then, pour out the water and then pour out the fish into the tank. This will limit the stress of the fish, and they will have an easier time acclimating to your tank without going through hell first. Also, Snowflake Eeels, as well as some fish, can be finicky eaters. It is always good to find out what the petstore feeds the fish and has gotten the fish to eat. That way, the fish will have less stress aclimating to the new tank as it will at least have familiar food. As far as most fish as well as eels, you will have to get them used to a varied diet as shrimp does not contain all the vitamins and nutrients, the eel, or most any fish needs. .

When I got snowflake ell as the same size of you. I have been fed my eel shrimp I always buy at the market. My ell so happy and never eats cleaner shrimps and sexy shrimp. My snowflake was very good. But today he was jumping out of tank and die. I don’t know why . My eel live with mantis shrimp they never fight together. Both of them never catch the fish or any shrimps. They don’t bother corals in 75 gallons

I’m sorry to hear that he jumped out. Eels seem to have a reputation for that. A friend of mine had one as well and his disappeared for like 6 months. One day he found it in his overflow when he was cleaning that out.
