Oh man I hate that you cannot do long range down under. I wonder why you can't. Maybe some type of signal interference? But long range is an awesome experience!! As always, great video Andrew!
Probably due to legal regulations. Same in the EU, flying FPV you need a spotter and you have to stay in sight all the time - so legally no long range.
Thanks for the video Andrew. This is promising at the price and the range is more than enough for the long range I'm trying to achieve. I love the fact it's either the radio or the module so for us T16 Pro users the module would be perfect. Hope you can do a video of the module use if possible.
@@AndrewNewton Don't knock yourself plenty smart enough for me, in fact you're smarter than me as I'm just learning inav by watching your vids. Love the idea of the module for my TX16S pity I'd have to re locate to the Sahara desert to use it without being arrested!
Andrew thank you so much for doing a "range" check. RF travels well over water but I expect the range would be longer if the receiver was airborne. Its good to see these units finally making it out of China. Thanks again for making these videos
Hi Andrew do you know it the fm30 module is compatible with the rxsr receiver and would there be a range benefit or do you have to use the receiver that comes with it
Andrew, a fellow at the bottom of this comment list says you can download and add for free a pc version to add to your mac so you won't need to use someone else computer.

@MAD GRUMPYMAN I couldn't agree more about not complying with the restrictive rules being pushed on everyone, its got nothing to do with safety and everything to do with the intent to commercialise the airspace we use! Vodaphone dont even try to hide that and openly admit they are lobbying to push the hobby flyers out to exploit the airspace for financial purposes. As for powerful radios, i run 4w on 2.4ghz :)

Just order the module for my turnigy 9xr. I hope i will get the same results as your test. It looks impressive. Good job.
Looks great. Thanks for the review and test Andrew
Their website is pretty interesting and includes something my friend Brian and I have talked about which is relay. Pretty cool stuff Andrew.
Been looking at this for a while. For the price and range you get with the FM30 its absolutely ridiculous value

Andrew, can you use the FM30 Module on the RadioMaster TX16S or will it only work on the Siyi radio ?
Just checked on line, it’s compatible to the tx16s.tx18s, frsky and jumper.
Bluetooth telemetry link to ArduPilot stations? Cool.... would be nice to see this.

Only the supplied receiver as far as I know
Nice radio. Unfortunately, no Opentx is a deal breaker for me.
Just buy the JR Module, problem over.
Hi my receiver won’t bind it flashes green and red I’m stuck
I dont have this any more
Thanks for replying I just got in touch with their support team
Can this module be used for FPV racing drones(Freestyle)?
Are there any problems with latency?
Dont know about racing quads

Free trial maybe, but I'm still not inclined

hmmmmmmm .....30 kilometers .........might have to invest in another transmitter
Hello do you know if the module would work in a TX16S radio?
Dont know, Pawel S has mine now. His video (coming soon) might shed some light on that.
@@AndrewNewton was this a reaction to His vid Yesterday?
On banggood it says IT works with tx16s
@@AndrewNewton thanks , i ordered it so i hope it will work with my tx16s
Yes he did say his video was coming soon
@@AndrewNewton its working very well on the TX16S tried it in a glider with the FR big receiver great product
Very easy to run windows on a Mac, just use virtualbox. Windows 10 installation image is available for free from Microsoft.
Or bootloader
This is 2020. No Hall gimbals and no OpenTX (not even a fork!) - no buy.
could you up date it through your phone
No phone app as far as I know
try in a boat !
Убогое радио)
Very inexpensive
@@AndrewNewton The price is very affordable, of course. But I did not understand if the external module has an input for additional battery power ...
Just transmitter supplied power
А я бы взял.

hi , Andrew. Is that module compatible w/ the QX7 accst? tia
Don't know for sure but it should be. Check Pawel Spychalski's channel soon, I passed it on to him for a more technical look.
@@AndrewNewton thank you.
So, the big question is, is it LoRa chipped radio?....Or using illegal levels of RF (over 100mw)....Great test using that open stretch of water...🤔
Gal Kremer measured 170mW.
Yes, LoRa chipset. 2.4 Ghz Semtech chipset.
I bet their next product will be killer.
Lol, you know off camera, legality goes out the window!

I really want to send out my rc bait boat 15km would this work with it
Dont know, signals are greatly reduced at ground level. Ask on an RC sailing forum.
Will this module work with Taranis qx7
Untested but it should
@@AndrewNewton could you test it please? and confirm accst?
Peut-on accélération droite et gauche ??
Accelerate left and right? Not sure what you mean
I purchased same SiYi ft 24 but screen always shows Chinese language. Do you know to set english language?
Must be in the menu somewhere but I don't have the Siyi any more
