I usually have a 10 foot tree and use at least 3000 lights , I think bigger trees need more bulbs. I only use warm white mini lights. I don't use leds (yet), so I use 2 outlets and heavy extensions to power all of this.. and gee Whiz, make sure the lights work before you try putting them the tree. .Also, I don't leave them on when I am out... My 2 cents

It's how most people do it, or weaving them in and out of the branches. Doing that ridiculous circle method just looks tacky
Or you could just get a tree pre wrapped.
