Just sharing my experience. I worked from abroad for 3 years at my company. I was living seasonally in New England/ Europe and in Central America. I had verified there were no tax or visa implications to the company. My leader was aware and supportive. I worked on hours conducive to my customers and colleagues east coast time zones. My sales were highest while I was abroad. The company is international for goodness sake having colleagues working from more than a dozen countries. Suddenly they changed the policy were tracking my IP address, and I was told I am no longer allowed to work from outside the 50 states.
We live in Seattle area, and if we go to Santa Barbara for two months down in California, our employer needs to know because they have to pay those extra taxes. I don’t know if we could actually live in Portugal for two months, even though my husband has colleagues working there on his team. We would just like to get some sunshine an extra warmth, for a couple months!
Thanks alot for you very clear and helpfull video. And i would appreciate if you make avideos on which companies or jobs for people in East Asia countries. Thank you!
I work for a company in Texas that has offices in the UK, there are some open roles that are in similar departments to the one I work in now. However, the educational requirements are much lower. Where here in Texas you need a degree to be a financial analyst, im the UK they don’t require a degree. Would my company need to sponsor a visa for myself if I took up a job in their offices abroad? Would that be worth it for them, even if I covered my own cost of moving, since apparently the position that’s similar to the one I currently have in the US, seems to not even require a degree in the UK?
work the night shift. My GF lives in the Philippines and works for a Pilipino company that's contracted for a company in Florida. She's gotta work 6pm to 4am
I‘m from Germany and I would like to travel to Asia with 90 days no visa, can I work remotely as a part time while traveling ? My employer is aware of it and has no problem with that.
