This is how it was until fairly recently. 30 and older people remember when it was glances, innuendo, etc. Also the reason it was so weird was because of the trauma and homophobia of the outside world. That's kind of assumed, but his family is positive towards LGBTQ people.
I was at the library with my niece. I told her she could pick 2 movies. She comes back with a Barbie movie and this movie. I said “Where did you get that?” And she said “It was in the kids section.” I immediately took it away from her and informed the librarian that it was mistakenly put in the kids section.
I REALLY REALLY enjoyed your take on the film. I told a friend a few years ago that I LOVE this movie because there was no huge, world ending, homophobia or whatever else moments. It was just a beautiful summer love story. Those who've had one can most definitely relate. Thanks again for the review!
