  • If you want to convert a Tamiya King Hauler to a day cab, flatbed truck, tanker truck or dump truck this video series should help. I will be taking a King Hauler/Grand Hauler truck and converting it to an operating dump truck. The finished unit will include an operating dump bed, the Tamiya MFC sound and light system and many other extras. Follow along on this multi part build.

    When cutting sheet plastic,i find it helpful to turn the x-acto knife the other way,i.e.,score with the back of the knife.This removes a small portion of the plastic,making it easier to remove.Also,I never,ever, would use a plastic ruler with said knife.It is very easy to cut some off the edge,making for a messy cut.A steel ruler isn't very expensive,and a very good tool to have in your arsenal.Just my 2 cents worth.A very interesting build i will watch with pleasure.Thanks for sharing:).

    Thanks for this video, it answered a couple of questions I had. I was just looking at that grill but for KW. Also i need to lose the sleeper on a build thanks for showing how to do that.

    Whats this another project on the go! Great stuff. Really learning a lot from these builds. it really looks good even with the sleeper removed and the better looking tyres. Just to warn you Tamiya have released a Volvo recovery truck in 1/14th looks epic,would imagine its priced similar to their tanks,thats me out

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the Tamiya "Heavy Haul" 8 x 8 recovery truck looks pretty darn cool. It's a ways off but when I see hard information I will probably do a video.

      Just FYI. The new Tow Truck is slated for about June. MAP price is $1,061.20. It will use the MFC-03 and a new function kit 56553 that will sell for $275 and has all the tow/lift functions.

  • @sandman2495

    Fantastic Build. I have a King Hauler and New to the hobby. As you know the motor in the stock kits not so good for torque and pulling heavy loads. I see you purchased a separate motor. I know the MFCU says not to use a diff motor due to the possibility of damaging the MFCU. What would you recommend getting. manufacturer and model for a better motor for pulling power.

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use 45, 55 or 8- turn motors with the MFC with no issues. 45 and 55 turn motors work the best. Mt choice is this: hobbyconcepts.net/products/copy-of-80-turn-motor?_pos=1&_sid=d1ce75f61&_ss=r

    Where did you get the smoke unit? Can it be turned on/off from the Remote or the MFC?

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Have not figured out yet if I will turn it off/on by remote yet. Heck, I have not even figured out of it will fit yet! I got it off eBay but the seller is currently out. When I figure it out and show the installation in the truck I will include a link - if the unit is any good (it sure looks it).

    What servos? I have a issue with the truck running fine for a few minutes then dies. Restarts the dies again. Only can figure the servos are the issue. Mfc01 is used also.

    • @HobbyconceptsLLC
      @HobbyconceptsLLC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would doubt the servos are the problem. The MFC will restart is the voltage goes low or the radio signal goes away. The voltage could go low by a or low battery or a high current drains (like a stalled motor). The radio signal cold be anything to do with the radio signal. If an older radio cold be a bad antenna or electrical interference issue. If a new radio could be a bind issue. If you have further questions email me at jacobsenra@hotmail.com and we can troubleshoot more.

    • @cdubaviation1517
      @cdubaviation1517 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hobbyconcepts-LLC if I turn off the TX the mfc does not shit off. Have unplugged the shift servo and fixed the problem. Only thing is it is pointless to have a 3 speed lol

      I use lesu S-1214 on every single one of my rigs and Bruder tri axles awd conversions..also use a trick to mold them too shape if nesc. If they are a smig out of alinement on wheels...The 1214 are a smig wider even then the 1213 I believe..They are stiff enough to not have to run foams as well. I can haul full loads of rock with pup trailers no problem with no compressing of tires
