In case anyone isn't familiar with the concept of 'Residential Schools', which is what the Na'vi were in at the beginning, a Residential School is something that white settlers set up across the US and Canada for the First Nations people. They were essentially boarding schools that the governments forced tribes to send their children to love at, wherein the curriculum was basically centered entirely around teaching them only to behave like whote Christian settlers. Punishment of students who deviated from that curriculum and attempted to learn about their own tribal identities were often punished. Residential schools were mostly an attempt to completely erase tribal culture. So that's what was going on with the Na'vi kids in the opening cut scene, and why the main bad was making such a big deal about the songcord.
Anyone mildly informed knows what happened to indigenous populations on ALL English colonies.
Of course Hollywood and rest of propaganda machine normally whitewash it and present others that pale in comparison
That's where the inspiration comes from. That's not the lore of Avatar though. They were specifically meant to build ambassadors. They weren't meant as large scale school projects for everyone. This was at a time where humans and Navi still were somewhat at peace and coexistence was considered possible on both sides.
@david53444 you say that despite the fact that he is literally punishing them for showing their culture. The purpose of the "Ambassadors" was to raise Na'vi as human, and have them convince other tribes that human ways are superior to Na'vi ways. Their purpose in lore is the same as real world, cultural erasure.
4 months later, I think I’ll finally get the game because of you. One of the first TH-camrs I’ve seen play the game honestly instead of harping on it immediately.
I'm sorry to hear people do that.. I honestly really enjoyed the game! I even cleared out all the bases.

there was a avatar game in 2009 right after the First Movie it was calles James Camerons Avatar ! and it has a similar Story to the Game we got now !

I’m so glad to see someone else amazed by this game. Everyone hates on it because Ubisoft uses similar game mechanics in its games, and they call it “farcry blue”. Of course the mechanics are similar, it’s made by the same company! This game is amazing though, the first truly challenging game I’ve played and not quit. The world is beautiful, and it truly immersed me into Pandora. I’m glad to see you’re enjoying it as much as I did!

Love your review, its honest, its you playing it, and you are not setting out to just critique the game either. Way too many times, i click into a youtube vid to find it being slayed for no good reason by someone who clearly just wants to release some sensational headline on their youtube vid. Why did i click into yours? "This world is amazing..."... that was number 1.. but the rest was just YOU.. playing, reacting, and embracing the characters, the situation, the emotion and the game. For me this is how i play, i don't play for the highest scores, i play for the experience, and you've made a great vid (which i have only just started watching!! So thank you, i will watch the rest now and tonight when i get home from work. Great vid, please always continue to make vids like this.

I bought this game a while ago, but my computer couldn't run any of the cup scenes or character creator so I had to return it for a refund. I'm excited to get to experience it through your videos though, so thank you for uploading them!

I am going to stop at the point where you just enter pandora forest.. i was bought the game for christmas, and i was ok to install the game and just 'test that it runs' ok including into the forest bit :) Thank you , thank you , thank you for what i've seen so far, i'm going to watch the rest over christmas now.
When i got into pandora i had the same reaction as you as you exit the grey/dark base and then into this lush world of pandora.. my jaw dropped, i focused on what was like a dragonfly as it hovered in the vegation and glistened in the daylight. Your reaction was much same, that initial wonder.. you can never replace that first moment.
Honestly if they'd let me go experience pandora for real i would but i'll take this game and everything ubisoft have done with it on the snowdrop engine anyway. :) What a stunningly beautiful game!
Well Christmas day is here, Happy Christmas/Holidays/Hannukah and translate this to mean seasons greetings regardless. Finally have the game to play now that its ok to.. installed it 2 weeks ago, but today i got to play.. ohhhhh its lovely, truly is, i can see myself getting quite lost in the kinglor forest at first, have done some crafting, done some hunting for clean kills etc. Absolutey fabulous job they have done of Pandora but also of the Na'vi. I saw someone negatively review this game and one of their reasons was 'can't play on both sides', i cannot honestly think of a single reason why we would want to play as humans, please, just paint me blue, and leave me in this world as a Na'vi :)
They set it up beautifully; cause if you are playing it from a role play standpoint, your character has NEVER seen Pandora that they remember, so the set up of that moment is good cause the same wonder you feel as a player, your character is feeling the same. I was curious as to how that would work, because players would be enamored by the scenery, but a Na'vi would be like "yeah whatever, another day in the jungle"
As a fan of "bow and arrow sneaky games" myself, I think you'd really like Horizon: Zero Dawn and Horizon: Forbidden West. I also really like mechanical creatures and dinosaurs too, so if you like that as well it's definitely worth checking out.
Hej! I played both of them, but before I made this channel, so the playthroughs are gone. I will replay them, but probably focus on the Main Story, and not on the hardest difficulty again, as it gets very grindy.
actually the interface kinda sucks on controller too, to throw grenades you have to press both L1 and square on ps5 or x on xbox, incidentally these are the same buttons for crafting arrows so in the middle of battle i keep accidentally flashbanging myself

the way your character holds the bow just makes my brain all confused, its so backwards from how one holds it...... (also they held it like you usually do in the movies)
It’s actually pretty similar to how you hold a bow If you are using a quick release trigger. Hope this can ease your brain a bit😂
almost, but the way the character holds it, you can only pull it back in a way that the bow is horizontal, which is way less effective. but oh well, its just me being nitpicky. just looks weird :)
The Na’vi hold it this way in the movies too, they are left handed and twist their wrist so that the back of their hand is facing their face. It’s an ancient technique that the Japanese used I believe, it also plays into the fact that they are alien and aren’t the same as we are.
I wish this would be possible cloning and memory transferring
Not sure if this game is any better than the Gollum game, but the graphics of the world at night time is gorgeous. Looks exactly like the movie!

Love ya stuff lizz. You need to listen harder though. Countless times you were told what to do or you even read it yourself and still didn’t do it. When climbing the waterfall you went left after reading it was right. At the lake you read that you had to follow the wreckages and you went for a swim and got completely lost. The wire and hacking tutorial. And the ‘flare’ thing the girl told you exactly what to do over the radio and you blatantly ignored her 😆I have no problem with you exploring it’s a beautiful game. But it gets annoying to watch when you’re literally brick walling because you’re not listening and taking ten minutes to do the mini games or puzzles. I don’t mean to come off as a harsh critic as I said love your vids ima keep watching but don’t think this was your best day this is the first time I’ve actually found it hard to watch you for more then two hours.
I'm only human. I manage a live chat with hundreds of chatters a day, on week days we don't have that many mods around so I gotta be extra vigilant, and I've been working non-stop 6-7 days as week for AT LEAST 10h+ a day since September.. I slept like 6h a night, which for some is enough, but I need as much sleep as a fat cat. Not the mention all the tech stuff I am anxious about because I used to have BSODs daily for months..
I hope that explains a bit that my focus is not always 100% there. You guys see me + game, while there is SO much more for me to focus on when I stream. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Oh and also, I am ambidextrous, I always mix up left and right. And I am slightly autistic. Being all over the place sometimes is just how my brain functions lol
