It's because My War captures the essence of human perseverance. Going for the primal rush while enduring physical and mental torture is why skateboarding will forever be a top tier sport and hobby that speaks to the soul of many many humans. It's one of the youngest sports on earth yet it captivated the world organically. I haven't done tricks in years but I still love to cruise around and carve. Being a skater comes down to your passion and your heart, not how often you get on a board.
I hope there is nothing that kept you from learning but, if you ever try, you'll definitely be able to relate to the the commitment it takes to get level.

@@non_brewed_condiment Yes. Happy, but scary. you have to meet somebody and have a meeting before you get the money. This is in the UK. It actually gave me a lot of anxiety.
Jesus Christ I can't believe that incident happened. I know it's like that in some spots but to consider ending a random persons life for a camera is psychotic
The hockey team hyping it truly made it great (not to take anything away from his commitment and talent of course). So great, and thanks for posting :)
This dude is so systematic about approaching a trick... ramping up, simulating the exact scenario, researching the commonalities of prior tricks.... respect.
This is one of the best formats where you can appreciate what it really feels like when you skate. The trick doesn't matter, it's the feeling of winning the battle.❤
Bro really took "The camera man don't die" to another level. He could have actually took one and gave it right back. So many Wars within a War. Also I feel this one down clipper gets slept on, could be my individual experience and the sheer amount of tricks that have been done on it, but this one in particular stood out for me. Wild to see David's full battle on such a heavy trick that really, like most tricks I see with Pro's, really looks like it was within a couple of tries, no matter how much I know that not to be the case AT ALL lol.
So good! Goose bumps! Hard work, dedication! Great people! Thank you Thrasher! Thankyou skateboard! Thankyou crew! Thankyou David Reyes! That was fire!
I'm always more motivated to go skate after a My War than an actual part. There is something about seeing pros struggle just like we all do that gets me hyped to skate.
This is so gnarly! The dedication is next level!! You deserve every bit of happiness after going through this, to land a tre noseblunt Clipper not many people really understand how hard that would be down that hubber. Dave makes it look easy and the ledge look small. You're an absolute legend well done brother 👏🏼🙏🏼💪🏽
it just depends i think for something like this it was a lot more methodical and meticulous especially since some of those training clips were in between tries
Don’t underestimate how dangerous SF really is. That place is LawLess and you will get smoked for damn near nothing. So glad to be out of that place . Glad everyone is ok .
It's so crazy someone would have the thought "you should have put one in him" like it's not enough to steal their stuff, you also want to take their life? And for what? A longer jail sentence? Even from the perspective of a criminal how would that help you? Messed up view of the world.
@@Codisrocks it wouldn't unless you somehow get rid of every witness, and camera without drawing attention to yourself which is 10000% impossible and then you just turned 5-10 years in jail into guaranteed life without parole. It's senselessly violent and makes the chance you'll get away with your crime significantly less likely so it's also pretty stupid.
When I first saw the clip in the video, I just stared at the screen with my mouth open for what felt like way too long. Well done, David. You’re a beast!
Skateboarding to me is the definition of insanity, doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results, but if you’re a skater you know the battle is for that rush of finally rolling away after hours, days, weeks, and sometimes years is a feeling that unlike any I’ve ever felt in my life, it’s one of the reasons I still skate
I’ve told so many people about this and how slick and beveled the edges are. Favorite trick I’ve ever filmed was my nephew for his cult part and he hanger barspined it. Fucking nuts
For us mortals who will never know what it feels like to skate at that level... would be cool for the guys to explain why it's such a massive thing. Why would Pudwell say its the Gnarliest thing he's seen when we're seeing guys like Hoban Impossible nosegrind on sls for fun... Would like to know what makes that spot so intense. Just interested - no frame of reference whatsoever.
I love when onlookers become part of the video. People that realize they might see something special and then they do. Don't have to be a skateboarder to appreciate the commitment and the pain and the slams it takes to land a trick. That's when skateboarding unites everyone.
Imagine going for your usual shred session at the plaza and upon showing up you see a fucking madman obsessively doing tre bomb noseblitz over and over on the hubba. I bet no one was aware of what was going on. lol
Holy shit. 6 trips to San Francisco and countless practice sessions for a 2-second clip. Skating is gnarly
For real tho that’s true dedication right there
And having your filmer pistol whipped and robbed! Literally this trick was every sense of the word WAR
It's harder to do at this level than any professional sport
This is my favorite series on TH-cam and I’ve never even rode a skateboard.
time to start then
You’re a skater - get on a board!

Jesus Christ I can't believe that incident happened. I know it's like that in some spots but to consider ending a random persons life for a camera is psychotic
Yeah and an old dated camera from 2005 at that.
Mind you the embarcadero in broad day light is like the last place in sf some shit like that would happen
@@fernandoacosta7423what, all along the pier is cutty 24/7, emb is a block in from pier 7 and all of it is crazy 24/7

This is such an insane banger and David Reyes seems like such a good dude, very good vibe
dude even daewon said it

Thank you for calling them three sixty flips David
I prefer to hear them said that way too, but I've also heard a lot of younger people call them 3 flips, or tre flips.

David is incredibly gnarly and I feel like he doesn't get the spot light enough. This video is great.
So deserving of a my war. Glad that they came back to this one, trick is in the skateboarding hall of fame

Hell Yes!! My War is always such a good watch.
That is without a shadow of a doubt the most difficult trick to go down on that hubba, jaws kickflip melon from the top was insane also
Reyes is such an under rated skater. Dude rips hard.
Damn...didn't know he was so disciplined. Tory with the board save and hug was so wholesome. Fuuuuck this one was good. WTG David!
Nothing makes me want to grab my board and shred as much as My War does. This is really what skateboarding is about, what we all fall in love with.
One tear my ass .. my boy had a waterfall . ❤
bruh the part with the dudes playing hockey at clipper is fucking awesome bro
Cannot believe that went down. What a legend!!!
Love his "Live to Bwen" tattoo
I don't remember you guys including clips of training a trick in another spot. Loved it.

This is the best MY WAR! Wow this story is nuts 🤯 so stoked he finally got it! ❤
S/O to Torey and Daewon. David Reyes has deserved a solid home that supports him for along time. He's elite and needs that backing. Fuck yeah.

Definitely the most gnarly trick on Clipper.
"I shed a singular tear." How do you say that and not immediately break into laughter?

crazy trick by far, but the story behind it makes it so much more gnarly!
