I just wanted to say thank you for all of your content. You've helped with unlocking the full potential of my Pixel 2XL and for that, I am truly grateful. Cheers!
i have a problem, when i want to boot to twrp .. it says: Sending 'boot.img' (65536 KB) OKAY [ 1.491s] Booting FAILED (Status read failed (Too many links)) fastboot: error: Command failed after that i just reboots .. can't find any help on xda, except one guy who tried this using a zip file .. i am using the 3.3.0.0.img file
What version of the platform tools are you using? fastboot --version will tell you. If it's not at least 28.0.3 then you need to try the newer version. How about your USB cable/port? Are you using Type C to C cables? They don't usualy play nice on Windows, try a USB A to C.
@@MaowDroid thanks for getting back to me. i have the newest platform tools, tried different usb ports (usb 3 and usb 2) also 2 different cables (both type c to type a) - can you confirm that you can boot twrp with the new beta 3?
Hi! Q: If im rooted will I have to flash images every single release (and erase data..) of the build? Or ill mangage to get OTA after the first flashing? TNX! (rooted pixel 2)
@@MaowDroid awesome. Yeah worked. BUT Magisk is now uninstalled. I downloaded the zip Magisk directed me to but it fails to install when pointing Magisk to the zip file. Advice or video to follow?
Unlocking the bootloader is the same. TWRP might not be functional 100%, however if you remove your screen lock before booting TWRP, you should be fine. Also try use Magisk beta, I've had someone else try on their Pixel 1, and it's working. Not sure about the Pixel 2, but it should be ok.
I know that TWRP might not work, but the latest version of Magisk canary does. I'd follow this video but use the Pixel 2 files instead. th-cam.com/video/cnMYmvKArF4/w-d-xo.html
Hey, yes it is. If you wish to root, you can use the latest canary builds this time. forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/dev-magisk-canary-channel-bleeding-edge-t3839337

no ota files for you, but you can flash them without the need to wipe everything

Another great Video! 😊 Will today's Android security update brick my Pixel XL 2 ( Current build # PQ3A. 190505.001)?
Thanks.
Thanks Hofmann! And no it shouldn't, today should be business as usual with the August security update. 😁

I'm currently using the non-rooted version of Android Q Beta 4 and I was wondering if I can use the android 9.0 guide to root.
Unlocking the bootloader is the same.

Anyone having issues using GooglePay even with SafetyNet checked on Magisk?
Yeah it's a known issue. :( Our time is up for the time being

I presume it's this particular post that you were mentioning. forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=79196607&postcount=573
There's an xposed module that hides it it may work and I am aware that xposed doesn't work on pie and q so download Edxposed I hope this helps
Is this method working with android 10 now?
I know that TWRP might not work, but the latest version of Magisk canary does.
