+Rich Aquila Technically the z9 is an led backlight like any other. It lights a lcd panel. I cant judge about the new technology sony adverts. Concidering the price it should be as good as OLED. However i checked some videos and its still not as good as OLED since it cant get the perfect black. Surely flare etc will be much less than on my video.
did LG have local dimming on? I assume yes. It is important to know that all LED's loose brightness over time. Even large ones like the power lamp in your computer. And if a large LED chip loses brightness over time, than a tiny pixel sized LED will have an even shorter limited lifespan. It is unavoidable. So to invest in this technology now, is to understand that it will need to be replaced very soon no matter how careful you use it.
It was very precise and correct!
why not show demos of brightness? and image retention?
Yes right, led has better brightnes than oled
Great video!
Compare oled to a true led like sonys z9
