They didn't cover the most important thing about golden temple m they have a 24*7 running kitchen that feeds everyone who comes to visit for free. Ppl pay respect to the temple by helping out / volunteering in cooking and serving the visitors, washing dishes etc. Ppl can donate raw materials . It totally runs on the goodwill of ppl
So, first thing's first, everyone is allowed to go to Darbar Sahib (you call it the Golden Temple), and only the golden building is the Darbar Sahib. The surrounding complex contains the Sikh government building, because we believe in sovereignty, and it is called the Akal Takht Sahib. In the surrounding complex, there is also a langar hall, or food hall, and anyone who comes gets free food, as long as they sit on the ground as equals with each other.
Whole Place is Temple( Gurudwara Sahib) Guru is Teaher , Dwara Is Door. Calling it temple is not appropriate but people calls it anyways. Guy with the spear is the Guard and Walking Talking Help Desk Service too. Touching is not a issue but has to has some boundaries. As it is holly place not a Picnic. Spot. Guys with the Sword are Baptized Sikh. Many countries unlike UK has Permit Sikhs to carry there Sword at anywhere including all public places in respect for there religious freedom. Water considered to be holly water and it considers blessed water not a Normal water. Everybody takes a dip into it as well as child to get blessings :)

The golden temple 1000 times beautiful and bigger then this...i visited twice.. Once with my friends that time i stay night inside it.. That was awesome expirence when paalki cm and whole guru dwara is washed by the people.. Taking water from the sarovar.. The ladies wipe flor with there stalls... It was amazing

It's not mainly about touching, but it's that the place you are is a holy and sacred place so to be decent emotionally, mentally and also physically. It's to experience the sacredness of the place and not like some tourist place to have a picnic sort of thing. No one need to be scared and no one will harm you, but visiting these places need to show some respect and decency, enjoy all the best. Would be glad host you people.

Within the campus there is a community kitchen where 100 thousand people are served free meals 24×7, 365 days, then there are guest houses in the campus and the administrative wings and the main office.
You guys asked why they were stopped for hugging. Golden temple is not a picnic spot. The sole purpose of going there is to feel and be part of the divine which reside in all of us. But because of our daily lives/routines we have completely forgotten that part of our existence. Just to remember there is another dimension of life throbbing within us people go to golden temple or any other temple. If you go there and keep doing what you were doing outside of temple than there is no point going in.
Hey Guys, I thought I should clear few doubts. 1. Its all the Golden temple (Harimandir sahib which means A Holy place where we worship the God) 2. They just misunderstood that people just can't romance there since it is known as the most holy place and there are way too many places for the romance or you should avoid kissin you partner there lol. 3. It was great efforts of people who shot this video, but they skipped the part of "Langar" (Free Kitchen), the most important thing is anyone is welcome to worship there, everyone is treated equally weather a PM or a typ person.
If u don't know temple was attacked by indian government in 1984. And was rebuild as golden. In Indian law about religions, Sikhs are considered as part of Hindus. But they are actually different and ask for their own identity. That's why it's not temple, it's gurudwara.

last year when I visited India, I was really amazed by this country, the golden temple is one of them. Since my workplace have a few Sikh guys so they suggested us to visit there. It was really huge and beautiful. Astonishing.
The main reason is Golden Temple is a holy place where people visit with respect and decency.It was just to let the couple know about maintaining the decorum. Secondly, Visiting a holy place should mean to be devoted to God rather than focusing on blogging which is their personal profession.It is common when one is not aware of something he/she should be educated and it reflects they have taken it positively. Many people visit after a long period leaving behind profession and feel fortunate. The men with spears are the employees of SGPC(Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee responsible for management of Gurudwaras) who stand at different places to maintain order. One can reach out to these people for any help. The men with Swords are the Nihang Singhs aka Khalsa Army.
We're usually happy when we see westerners trying out our outfits! The reason they're staring is probably because western tourists in India mostly stick to t-shirts/tank tops and shorts (and carry ridiculously huge cameras and backpacks) :P

last year when I visited India, I was really amazed by this country, the golden temple is one of them. Since my workplace have a few Sikh guys so they suggested us to visit there. It was really huge and beautiful. Astonishing.

The main reason is Golden Temple is a holy place where people visit with respect and decency.It was just to let the couple know about maintaining the decorum.
Secondly, Visiting a holy place should mean to be devoted to God rather than focusing on blogging which is their personal profession.It is common when one is not aware of something he/she should be educated and it reflects they have taken it positively.
Many people visit after a long period leaving behind profession and feel fortunate.
The men with spears are the employees of SGPC(Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee responsible for management of Gurudwaras) who stand at different places to maintain order. One can reach out to these people for any help.

We're usually happy when we see westerners trying out our outfits! The reason they're staring is probably because western tourists in India mostly stick to t-shirts/tank tops and shorts (and carry ridiculously huge cameras and backpacks) :P

I would be more happy if you called it Harmandir Sahib because gurudwara's name is Harmandir Sahib not Golden Temple and its not a temple it a gurudwara, and their is a lot difference between it, I know because I am sikh as you can read my name!!!
