    Glad Ifound this video. I just got the Clarett, 2 of them, still in their boxes. I am using Studio Live 32 Mixer as interface with Studio One Pro but I am over my head with it since i am new to Audio. My goal is to record live drums using 10- 14 inputs plus one stereo audio track with a drumless mp3 my buddy sends me his material to put drums on it, also to do some drumless covers, all will be recorded with 3 Hero 5 cams, edited together and uploaded to you tube and facebook but first i need it all to work. Right now I have been having issues not hearing drums in my headphone together with the mp3, no matter what i do; drums record to tracks then playing back I can mix together and give the right level but when recording i hear my drums outside the headphones, not mixed in my ears and even with click track this is impossible to have steady tempo, very frustrating, that is why I ordered the Focusrite hoping they let me accomplish what i need better than with the Studio Live 32 mixer; The mixer is a beauty but still does not works as a controller for the DAW at all and since it is fully customizable I get lost on it and all you can do with it. Would be great for live but I do not play live anymore, reason I got the mixer was just in case I would ever do live or put a band together I would be half of the Audio setup down having it but for all intends and purposes, Focusrite gives me 16 XLR inputs with the 2 together, the setup is cheaper and I heard Focusrite pres are cleaner than those of Presonus in its Studio Live Mixer. My buddy who sends me the mp3 does not understand Presonus Studio One Pro as he have been working for years with Motus Digital Performance 9.5; he swears by it and wanted me to ditch Studio One but I got it half price last Xmas and i think it is fantastic once I can learn to work with it; do not think it is worth ditching..with this video you are answering my question I had earlier if Presonus Studio One Pro could work without issues with the Focusrite Clarett 8PreX..appears to be golden! Thanks for your help!

    I wasted a couple hours trying to figure this out using custom mixes. I thought the custom mix was different for each (headphone) output. Its not, its the same and the control comes only by muting the ones you don't want on the specific headphone. Thanks!

    Great video. I need a little help, I have the 8Pre and want to integrate a Behringer AMP800 so I want to be able to send 5 custom mixes to 5 musicians. Do I have to connect the AMP800 to the Main Outs 1&2 on the 8Pre, or can I use Outputs 3&4 for example?

      @PintoMusicHTX  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josué Aguilar no. You can to use outs 9/10 & 10/11 for your head phone mixes.

      Josué Aguilar sorry. Yes. You can use 3/4 and forward. 1/2 are for your monitors normally.

    So I have a 18i20 and the headphones on the front are labeled (on the unit) 1&2 but that's actually 7&8, 9&10 in FC?
    Why would they do that??? I also want to run a separate mix from 5&6 (on the back of the unit) where is that in FC?
    Thanks!!! Very helpful vid!

      Jay C howdy. So 1&2 are inputs that mirror 7&8-9&10. This is for added flex. Bc you can also send the outputs out to a headphone amp and still use 1&2 headphone inputs. Doubling your number of headphone amps. If you want to use 5&6, just repeat what I did on 7&8. Add the playback channel 5&6 and make sure you route it out to 5&6 inside Daw. All the best

    Brother, how should I do this if I'm using Logic? I'm playing each intrument, and every input is being used for something different. I'm in a hybrid live and monitoring room, and I just have to stop the speakers from interfering with the microphones being used to record. I only want the output in my headphones. How can I achieve this at the click of a button, instead of having to reach to turn my monitors down every time? Thanks so much!

    Followed your instruction by the dot, but in mine it does not shows the cue mixes on the mixer channels..why?

    Hi, is there any way to get the click into headphone 1 (7&8) and 2 (9& 10) with the set up you have here? I would like to have a different mix in both but with both having the click. At the moment the click is only coming out of the speakers ie 1&2. Thanks!

      I know this is 2 years ago and you may have figured this out. But if not, just be sure to enable the metronome icon on the headphone out channels in Studio One. You can also set the volume with the slider control.

    how do you cue the click?

    I have this setup. I get my two headphone mixes to work by making both each headphone mix set to playback daw 1,2, on both. Also my studio monitors are set through 1,2 also. Is this way ok I've been using?

    • @larrytate1657
      @larrytate1657 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      If I don't need custom mixes can I just have all three of them, the two headphone mixes and the studio monitors all on 1 and 2 as I've been?

    • @PintoMusicHTX
      @PintoMusicHTX  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. This is correct unless you are sending different mixes. But if you are using 1&2 to monitor everything that's ok. All the best. George.

    • @larrytate1657
      @larrytate1657 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok great thanks. I'll think I'll never have much of need for different headphone mixes except when I want a metronome in my ears but not in my guitarist ears. But I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. Guess that's when I have to do what you showed and or cue mixes,
