Wow. I lived on the NC coast and have seen my fair share of hurricanes, but this is scary. Our house was 14 feet off the ground and had windows that would stand up to a Cat 4, but I still evacuated. Couldn't look out at something like that. In Isabel my dad's Crown Victoria floated away into Pamlico Sound.
Not mandatory but certainly the government could give incentives to build or buy these homes given how much it normally just flushes money down the toilet.
Insane footage. I’d never be able to ride that out like that. I’d be stressed out SO bad the entire time. Just WATCHING that water creep up is a big noty.
Probably the best storm proof house period!
That is scary!!! I hope you all and your neighbors are alright. I hope everyone is able to rebuild!
All the neighbors camped out n their house
I have watched a lot of these...this one is seriously wild. Ya'll were actually in the ocean. Just insane 😳

So is everyone in your family safe and sound now? How bout kevin Stewart? Is he ok now? Thank you for sharing this scary event! Stay blessed! 🙏
This is rather soothing. Hope you guys are ok.
I feel like homes like this should be mandatory in hurricane prone regions.
Lot of people that live in the hurricane regions are poor and can't afford quarter million dollar house on stilts
@@OkieBadu exactly
@@OkieBadu Yup, especially in the Bahamas, which is quite an impoverished country.

As long as I knew I’d be safe I’d ride a storm out. Especially in a house built for it.
Surprised there was never any updates due to the fact this was made two years ago! Hope y’all got everything restored and made it out safe now
Super cozy content

@@lockdot2 What's the point of having a hurricane proof house if your not going to stay for the fun
2 more feet and he would be swiming in his storm proof house. Not were I would want to be. Better to take a 7 day road trip then risk it.
I Hope you and family made it threw ok
why are the windows closed? how about some fresh air?
Because the storm may blow debris and water into the premises.
Prayers that everyone is okay!
