    As a former U.S Army Infantryman we conducted several force marches a year of 12 miles in 3 hours with a full rucksack and rifle and a couple of 20 + marches in full gear also.
    Yes it was rough but we did it.

    brilliant video ,,,, really enjoyed watching this ,,, yóu just can’t comprehend what these people actually went through… I agree with the above comment… people today arnt made of the same stuff .. keep making your videos I love all of them ,,

    Fab informative video … brutal conditions… I don’t think people of today could stand this kind of military service .. no wonder they were strong

      I thought that too. I know I couldn't march 18 miles in 5 hours.

    When you march for 20 miles with a pack on your back you're going to have no problem sleeping I promise you you will sleep standing up no problem

      @@HistoryThumbprint I have !! He was homesick, wishing his family would write back, they never did. He was a Roman from Egypt.

    Wait wait wait... in one breath, you say how they went all dirty for months on end, and in the next one, they are highly informed on washing hands, clean wounds and putting high emphasis on sanitary environment?

      This refers to when on campaigns, they were dirty and some of these campaigns lasted months on end.
