    Move 40, hasn’t moved a knight:
    *maybe his rule is that his rooks can’t move!*

      @@brianlakeberg1768I've seen plenty of men make silly mistakes like that. People might say "wow, you're bad at this" but nobody says "wow, men are bad at this". But whenever a woman makes a mistake, sexists like you crawl out of the woodwork to blame her entire gender. It's such an obvious double standard. We all see what you're doing and you're not slick.

    The quality is nice for a relatively small channel, well done!
    Most people wouldn't bother with syncing two streams, cutting out their opponent webcams and then switching between the two audio tracks of commentary, but it did make it much more enjoyable to watch.

    Hannah trying to guess what the drawback is while being completely wrong perfectly encapsulates the chess player experience

    • @stvia
      @stvia 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      Odd is just how certain she is about her guess while simultaneously basing that assumption on basically nothing and then taking huge risks. it's mindboggling

    • @hannahsayce1
      @hannahsayce1  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      I mean, I took one pawn to work out whether I was right, and figured out I wasn't from that lol. :D I know it seems really silly but I just had seen the "cant move further than the pawns" drawback before but not the "can't move horseys" drawback, so was fixated on that :').

    • @rocker1260
      @rocker1260 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      The thing is, you even mentioned that it could be "can't move rooks", but realize he moved his rooks already. So the leap to "can't move knights" wasn't so big. He is an IM and didn't develop his knights by move 20, you should get sus.

      @hannahsayce1 the only two pieces he had on the back rank was his two knights that hadn't moved once. I looked in the database... that's never happened before.

    That was great. I've watched Rosen play this on his channel, but it's much better seeing both players at the same time like this, hilarious listening to them try to guess what the drawback is.
    I wish they would have a version of this where both players have the same drawback. It would be a different type of game in which it's a level playing field but it's about trying to cleverly exploit the condition to force your opponent into a difficult situation.

    • @hannahsayce1

      Well, at that point you're just playing a chess variant. The possibility of the two players having _different_ drawbacks is kind of the point of the "Drawback Chess" variant in particular, I think.

    I love this concept for some reasons for variety in games creativity i think they should be aware of the list of drawbacks and particularly how it works though while they play so they start making more tactical decision definitely feels like this game mode is at it preliminary stage to help bring enjoyment over it conventional classical chess. First game though she did better ( the rule wasn't specific when the lose condition triggers unfortunately) compared to the second one if you're really engage you can argue your case that you're still the better one if it convincing hahaha, the rules were harder for hannah you know

      It's very easy to say, "haha, you couldn't decode that not moving the knights was his drawback". What if Eric's drawback was actually not moving any pieces ahead of his pawns? It would be a brilliant prediction by her. And again, it was just her 1-2 game for Drawback Chess. When you read the rules, you get to know that a lot of drawbacks are possible. Many of them are very difficult to predict. Also, it's very easy to be biased towards a particular drawback when you know it's possible from previous games/videos.
