Highly disagree that Ifrit is stronger as shown in the anime compared to the manga. Ifrit in the anime showed Queen taking some damage on the hits and looked like he took none after he walked back towards Sanji. Manga and Anime Sanji initially showed a speed feat of perception blitzing Queen, however, the Manga really brings this feat home due to the fact that Queen was literally unable to react to Sanji's barrage of heavy hitting strikes. Then the final strike, like you mentioned, also sent him flying much further than in the Anime as well.
I truly appreciate your takes on Sanji vs Queen. I am also a huge sanji stan, I believe even with the changes they had compared to the manga but the extra dramatic details all the animators added was a chef's kiss to this meal. I honestly cried so hard the first time I watched the episode because they also understood the full character dynamics of sanji, too.

Seeing them double down on the animation style like the return of luffy on momo. I loved it and they turned it to a quick time event was epic. I even saw some Levi energy when he ran on the bionic arm of queen was 🔥..
Sanji gave me some Levi energy in episode 1046, but he gave me some Denji energy in episode 1061, also this animation style was used in episodes 1019, 1025, 1033, 1049 and 1061
One reason this episode was so good besides the art was no cut aways. In my mind there are other good to great fights one being Ace vs Blackbeard a great fight is Lucci vs Luffy. What makes them bad at times is the run around the fights can be a chase down, to errors where the Straw Hats should lose but it's drawn out till they pull out a win. I would like to see a full edit of this fight.
Gear 5 should be directed by Megumi with animators like Vincent, and Naotoshi. Btw I heard rumors that there's an episode that Toei is gonna Collab with Warner Bros to make. 😳. Nika better be a 1hr special and be out in theaters

I agree that is has gotten better since the TIME SKIP, but i still think it could be better. I don't like the constant zoom-in whenever they fight. I don't like the constant yelling, not a fan of the aura, and one piece over all seriously lacking the fight choreography. Last but not least, the pacing is still horrendous and the improvements in animation does not make up for it
Not gonna lie when I first got into One Piece I was a Zoro fanboy, but ever since the Timeskip there's been so little from Zoro beyond fights (like he doesn't get near enough moments of leadership as the Straw Hat's first mate anymore, hell NAMI has been doing that leadership role way better than him!) That alongside the fact that we kept exploring Sanji's past and have seen him grow as a character so much that...honest to goodness I changed into Sanji's camp, just...yeah, Sanji and Zoro were head to head before timeskip but AFTER timeskip? we been in nothing but Sanji's time.
Can you imagine what Sanji would do if Luffy was in danger? Forget that. If Nami was in trouble? I think Sanji has had the biggest by far upgrade of any Straw Hat other than Luffy. And not one of the Straw Hats even know about it yet.
Yo, Sanji vs. Queen went absolutely HAM in the anime. It really sets the bar for future fights that we’ll see after Wano is finished. However, the KoH Zoro and (eventually) Gear 5 Luffy greatness is still in-bound. Lord knows what will be in store for those episodes….

Depends lol. Swords fights in one piece were never good lol. Zoro’s 3 swordstyle is hard to pull off properly. Even on movies, his fights weren’t that great compared to sanji’s and luffy’s. Look at film z, you cant possibly tell me zoro vs the girl is better than sanji’s fight against the ninja plant dude. In strong world, sanji’s fight with the gorilla is more impactful than zoro’s ashura finisher against the clown scientist. Zoro’s fights are always about posing, white screen and instant cut with little to no framing. His strongest techniques; shisonson is a unsheathe and sheate strong finisher, 3 thousand worlds, and ashura are all finishers they could animate nicely.
