It caused so much damage, my dad was charged an extra fee for electricity from ConEd for almost 2yrs because the company claimed it his house had mold and was not safer for workers to check the meter. We paid almost $1000 for a private test twice, a lot of phone calls over a year, and faxing documents before finally we got an intelligent manager on the line who took the time to review the paper work. He credited the account and we had no bill for almost yrs. But it was so stressful on my family. It's an older Brownstone in Brooklyn
The Landlord is crazy. If oil spilled, in NYS, that MUST be mitigated from a certified environmental pollution mitigation co. This landlord did everything illegal, including living in the lower level of a High ranch and renting the upper floor.. this area is zoned ONE family per residence.!
I'm a landlord and would never expect my tenant to pay rent if their premises the not in livable condition. Also, landlords are supposed to paint after a tenant moves out unless the tenant repainted the walls in a very bold color that required several primer coats. I don't ever charge for repainting the apartment unless the walls are extremely dirty and require additional cleaning in order to be repainting. I only had 2 incidents when that occurred and tenants were charged for the cleaning of the walls. I also had a tenant who insisted on changing her son's room walls from the neutral cream to a bold blue and before she did I had her sign a disclosure where she agreed to pay $100 to cover the costs of primer and paint to restore the room walls to its original state.
LOL good one. It always amazes me of people that wear poor wigs and think they look good. I worked with this guy that had the best toupee and it looked real. We took a company trip to the Caribbean and were parasailing and he hit the water and went under and I thought man this is going to be something. When he came up I still couldn't tell. But this guy today. LOL definitely a rug.
Some of the scummiest people on the planet. We have a housing crisis and these people spend all their time thinking about how they can exploit their tenants and prevent return of security deposits.
That's now two plaintiffs in a matter of weeks who have walked past Curt after winning their lawsuits without intentionally commenting. That's odd to me. I don't get that.
@mattgroppetti2 checked to see how far i would need to scroll to find a comment about the defendant's "rug". For the record, it was only the 2nd comment in since I know who Rip Taylor is.
Because he should have gotten punitive damages. In NYS, "If a landlord willfully violates the security deposit laws, they can be liable for punitive damages up to twice the amount of the deposit."
Mother nature is nothing to play around with but I love how nice Milian is towards white litigants. I only wished that she was like this towards everyone. So much for that!
I cannot believe this landlord had the audacity to call and ask for rent when he knew his rental place had no hot water
I think all landlords would still want rent. Why not
I can tell you 100% that unless landlord is purposefully not fixing the water issue, landlord can absolutely request rent..
There sure were a lot of Hurricane Sandy lawsuits back in the day.

That was a bad, bad rug. Lol
Lol totally
Saw it right off the bat😂
Looks like it went through a hurricane!
We know he's a proven liar by denying to acknowledge that wig on his head.

$1800 for painting the walls! And no proof! 😂
That’s nothing. Just spent $5000 to paint inside house.
The toupee has got to go.
He probably spent the security deposit.
That is a greedy Landlord
Was the defendant for real 😂
The defendant's wig is totally convincing.

If there's two things ubiquitous here on Long Island, it's Hurricane Sandy, and high ranch homes 😂
I never heard that term. We call them split-entries, and they were ubiquitous here as well. (Canada)
Truth. Half the people I know live in them, haha. And all of them on the south shore have exactly the same layout!
The Defendant almost has a good wig...almost
he spent the security deposit on a TEMU toupee
I love Temu…. But that does look like a toupee from there
Looks like he scraped it off the interstate
😂
Lmao
I think it's one of the missing pets. RIP Mr Fluffy.
I can't believe the landlord's excuse, if you would even call it that. He should really be charged with theft. So grimey !!
The defendant looks like Rip Taylor. Remember him? lol
I remember him!😂😂
@@TEX686 hahah!!
Another greedy landlord.

"High ranch" you mean "Split level"??? The epitome of the lower middle class
The defendant looks like he's wearing a wig.
Good call😅
Seriously??

Just commented that it was weird he didn’t talk
Curt is a smart @$$ , I wouldn't have anything to say to him either
Why is the planiff mad? He won.
Exactly.
I think he's pissed because he didn't get to say the "real reason" they were there...weird
Defendant is Rip Torn 😮
Do you mean Rip Taylor?

@@mattgroppetti2yeah definitely Rip Taylor.
Rip Taylor 💯😂
Defendent is obviously wearing a toupee
1,800 dollars for painting.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Why was the plantif mad?
I know, right? He won his case and he's still not happy. 🙄
Because he should have gotten punitive damages. In NYS, "If a landlord willfully violates the security deposit laws, they can be liable for punitive damages up to twice the amount of the deposit."
@@jennifermarlow.But doesn't he have to ask for that?
My sisters neighbor switched to gas and the oil company filled there basement with oil.
The smell lasts for ages.
I wanted to know what the plaintiff was going to say about the real reason why they were there lol
Weird plaintiff did not want to talk. He wom
The defendant looks like Rip Taylor
Nice wig.
Defendant shops at Rugs-are-us.
Anyone else wonder what he looks like bald?
Bad hairpiece
A lot of you are talking about about his hair and making fun but have some of you took a real good look in the mirror lol YIKES
Landlord is ridiculous
ok tough guy no comments
If he continued to live there than he needs to pay rent.
The DEFENDANT WON!!! WOO HOO!! The DEFENDANT WON!!! WOO HOO!!

You realize she's not white herself, right? You always claim she's racist towards non-white people when she, herself isn't white. Smh
@@howardhudson9592actually she does & it's beyond evident.
