    It’s fun to watch Inoue learn from his mistakes and adapt in real time. Great mix of training and skill. He’s a real problem.

    The first round Inoue threw the fundamentals out the window just to please the massive crowd who wanted him to knock out Nery fast knowing the history of Nery and Japan, my Japanese mate was at the fight and said inoues dad was laughing at Inoue when he was coming back to the stool after the knock down. I dare say the whole team knew what he was trying to do, and by the way Inoue went back to his normal self straight away shows he didn't give a shit about what was going to happen it was just to get that huge crowd on their feet.

      Not really, he got caught trying to swing his right but he was off position, leg entangled and awkward to recover. Nery took the chance and swung and it was a good shot. You could see Inoue knew his mistake and swung away when the punch connected and allowed the punch to go through while he also spun his body to avoid head concussion.

    I was waiting for this for so long! Thanks film study GOAT! What I learned is that Inoue won thanks to having a better lead hand game than Nery! I always ask myself what made Inoue recapture the control of the fight and now I know why. Also that end sequence (8:03) of Inoue messing up his timing to play bullet chess with Nery is so cool! Hajime no ippo type of beat (Volg vs Mike). Probably the same situation Smash players are in a regular basis.

    Asians are one of the smaller people on earth. They don’t have natural big frames. Inoue is only 5’5” and slim. He’s already moved up, fought and champion in multiple divisions. He will do what is best for him, not for a bunch of haters. They tried to push the narrative that he’s not good until he fights Tank and he has to prove in the US. Combat sports has multiple divisions for a reason. Why nobody tell Tank to move up and fight Bud Crawford or Bivol? Inoue can only fight the best fighters in his divisions and done that. In terms of fighting in the US. The Americans don’t support and promote the lower weight divisions like Japan. That’s why many fighters have to travel outside of USA to get paid. No one want to get into combat sports and fight without compensation.

      There are plenty of big people in Asia. In China, Korea, Mongolia, and central Asia, many people are over 6 feet tall and are very robust and thick. I would say your description is more accurate about Vietnamese people in general. Japanese height increased after the 1950's because the food supply finally became more than adequate to nourish the population beyond its most bsdic needs.
      The bigger athletes in Japan gravitate towards baseball or judo.

      Yeah he's wild and sometimes unpredictable but that's what makes him good. He's a 2 time world champ with a record of 32 wins and only lost to Figueroa and now Inoue. He's going to be a top contender at 126, so they potentially could have a rematch.

    i think nery doesnt posses the speed and timing to land anything significant to inoue aside from round 1 kd thats it.. i think inoue needs to climb to 126 bcoz he'll just demolish any 122 top challengers (no disrespect to any 122 boxers though)

    Easy move to regulate the southpaw is to do half steps + jabs on the outside, clockwise. That way you are limiting them to front hook.

    • @alyonachan
      @alyonachan 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      depends on the southpaw. if theyre a righty that converted to southpaw stance you should do the opposite, coz their strong hand is really their lead (right) hand. juan manuel lopez was an example. sometimes people forgot that his power punch is really his right hook and ended up moving to it xD

    • @DareBizarre
      @DareBizarre 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alyonachan Even in that situation you know to expect the right hook. For sure, you can't do that for eternity, but it's a useful tool to take the control from them.

    • @alyonachan
      @alyonachan 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DareBizarre again it depends. different movement is needed for different types of southpaw (or righty if converted lefty like cotto was). coz converted lefties dont go with standard lefty 1-2. but lead with left then move and turn with right hook. doing a standard approach for lefties would get you hurt vs. a converted one.

    Nice breakdown.
    But for me Inoue was always wining by knockout.
    Coz he has all the weapons in his arsenal,good athletic body,knows and maintance distance,reflex are tremendous,power on both hands,eyesight and focus spot on,timing in between opponent punches is great,closing distance at right time,punch selection superb,changes rhythm,changes style as par the style of opponent,extreme confident and above all willing to kill and win.
    Neri s lacking in all the departments except power on his left hook or say left hand.He knocked Inoue in 1st round coz Inoue didnot expected this or may be he was focused only on attack or may be overconfidence.
    You can win some but not many on just one weapon.
    Inoue to me is greatest so far compare to oldies or the current boxes.
