I lucked into a bottle of tsukushi well after it was discontinued and I'm so glad. A big part of why I buy that brand is how well it behaves. That said, I might pick up some Brown Penguin at some point because while at least over the camera I can definitely tell the difference, I like it for its own sake. That's a good find.

I was so gutted when I heard the news about this ink. It’s my favorite brown as well.
I was able to luckily find/buy 2 bottles from random people online. I use it sparingly!
Edit: A really good brown sheening ink that KINDA, reminds me of Tsukushi is Vinta Inks, Heritage Brown. ☺️

I was able to recently grab a test bottle of 30ml of Tsukushi at Scriptus for $5, which was sampled once, so it was barely used. It was a handmade bottle, and writes beautifully.

    Enjoyed this video.
Missed out on purchasing a bottle of tsukushi when it was available. On my 2nd bottle of yama-guri.
I would like to see dupes on parker penman sapphire, emerald and mocha. Montblanc Alfred Hitchcock's blood red, sailor apricot, montblanc British racing green , montblanc poppy red, waterman absolute brown and pelikan edelstein amber.
I know it's a lot but I believe in you and if anyone can achieve this task it would be you.
I took am a lover of brown inks I've mixed some and came up with Mont Blanc Adobe brown , desert brown, diamine coffee but of course using the same brand for each ink. The closest I've come to Alfred Hitchcock blood red is mixing noodlers red/black with noodlers heart of darkness.

Hello fellow oldschool ink fan. Hope you don't mind me intruding. Parker Penman Ruby was my first ink. The Scribe line of fountain pen inks were formulated by someone involved in the Parker recipe to begin with so I think that's going to be as close as you can get.

Tsukushi is such a lovely ink, it's a shame it's been discontinued. I wonder if Writing Desk by Ferris Wheel Press might be a possible dupe? It's another deep brown with green sheen.

Just to mention: This line of Octopus Inks is actually waterproof. This might be the reason it feels thicker and behaves differently, than „normal“ ink does. I have about 3 colours of this line and all behave pretty well plus I can sketch with them for watercoloring. Octopus is a German brand and therefore more widely available here, I guess. Greetings from Germany… Andrea
